First, Hinata was the one who called Karasuno concrete. That never left Wakatoshi's mouth. Second, idk if you guys realise but Wakatoshi has no problem with Karasuno on a whole, just Hinata. Third when he spoke to Hinata about his technique being clumsy that was just him speaking mad facts. Hinata is not a good volleyball player. His attacking is superb with Kageyama but average at best without him. His defense is below average.

I gotta give a shoutout to Ushijima's dad cause whenever a former athlete have a kid they usually try to push them to play their sport but his dad didn't pressure him to do anything and allowed him choose whatever he wants to do even if it wasn't volleyball related.

I really don't understand, you want Tsukkishima to have more confidence but you hate confidence the shiratorizawa team has ? They are not over-confident, because if they were they wouldn't have played with Karasuno with their 100%. They are playing their 100% because they believe Karasuno is good. Also coach praising his players to raise their confidence is not wrong. Also the confidence shiratorizawa team has is theirs, they have worked hard for years and earn their title as the champions.

Come on when the coach says your are you that's not him being cocky he means that you can win because you play well that's him instilling faith in his team, and shiratiroizawa are not overconfident just CUZ they want to win they are champions they have literally ama guy who played for japan in ushiwaka they know they're good if they felt karasuni was trash they wouldnt try so hard. Like shiratiroizawa have worked harder than anyone to be the players they are so they can be confident, you can't just call the overconfident just CUZ they are playing karasuni u are seeing it too much in karausnos perspective and not the other team as well. The reason the coach says the thing he says is because he knows what his team is capable of.

The difference between confidence and cockiness is wether you like the person are not. They like karasuno and dont like shiratowizawa so theyre cocky instead of confident. Even though they literally put in the work and have a record being a winning school which gives the right of confidence.

Also just confirming Hinata is a below average player but an offensive juggernaut, in episode 4 Kageyama literally said this: "You suck at serving, you suck at receiving, and your setting and blocking are below average. Then what are you doing on the court? YOU SCORE POINTS." Note when Ushiwaka spoke to Hinata between sets, he mentioned his blocking and receiving are clumsy which is in line with what Kageyama said. So it's not him being a dick, he was just saying the facts that even Hinata's teammate agrees with.

Just to add on to this, Ushiwaka does give him credit for his athletic ability and doesn't say anything bad about his attacking power but like you just said everything besides his attacking ability is being called out not just by Ushiwaka and Kageyama but also by other players throughout the series that have mentioned it as well, even Hinata himself.

Although its nice to correct them cause they'll know the actual facts from the comments ig we have to also remember its their initial reactiom without pausing or going back so its easy to miss some details plus they're not binge watching, they only watch 2 episodes at a time and its been a while since they saw some of the episodes 😭 I can understand not remembering some stuff "correctly" and misinterpreting some stuff but yh ushiwaka is not some hater and hinata still has a lot to learn but they'll probably understand better in S4

Nobody is truly an asshole in this show, they may show different sides of cockiness but it's pretty much always well-founded. We love our boys but you cannot ever simply overcome years of experience and practice with just raw potential. Hinata IS a beast, WILL be a beast, but right now he is still a rookie and it shows in his mental and technical capabilities. The beauty of this anime and manga is truly the small details, rewatching with you guys have been a treat, keep at it.

This goes beyond misremembering though. There's been multiple examples that Ushiwaka isn't just blindly hating on Hinata. Other characters have pointed out Hinata's weaknesses including people on Karasuno. Multiple characters have also commented on Ushiwaka's personality and that he isn't trying to be rude or mean. Even if you don't remember these moments, you can still logically come to the right conclusion by thinking about Ushiwaka's view of Hinata and what he's seen from him so far.

i like to picture ushiwaka as lebron and hinata+kageyama as steph and klay (i guess tsukki would sadly be a draymond+iggy combo) lol that's the only way i can see how karasuno is hanging in there

As someone left-handed, I can relate to people trying to force you to do things like right-handed people. It does come in handy during sports like baseball and soccer (football) where most people target to your right side (though its painful in baseball because the likelihood of getting hit by a pitch rises)

I’m here months late, just joined. Ushijima Is like Kobe(RIP). It’s that Mamba Mentality. He’s the best, he plays in U-19 Japan. He has every right to be cocky and confident. You have to have a mental game far beyond to be and maintain #1 because everyone is always gunning for you(hence Hinata) he never said Hinata was trash, but he said his confidence came from nothing because even though we cheer for Our Crows, Hinata IS trash, he JUST started playing Volleball, let alone in an actual team. Without Kageyama he would still be left playing in his local YMCA. Because besides his quick, he has no receiving game, zero serving, his defense is subpar. Yet he said he’s gonna beat A dude who has multiple championships and is in the U-19 Japan... okay kid, calm down.
