Ed's idea to use his own soul to power his alchemy was absolutely one of my favorite parts when I first read the series. To be in such a dire situation and to have such a clever idea on how to get out of it, that probably no other alchemist has ever thought of goes to show how incredible of an alchemist ed is. Also, I heard that the mangaka created that scene shortly after giving birth to one of her children, to convey the pain it takes to go through childbirth.

Man. I just rewatched HxH through your reactions Roshi, finished today (skipped through some parts of the Chimera Ant arc cause of all the SMOKE in that arc that I wanted your reactions to badly lol) and I'm realizing Ed and Al are super similar characters to Gon. Still young and naive to a fault, but still super strong and willing to do anything for those they care about and stand up against murder, even if it might be the right thing to do. Gotta say you are the best reactor I've ever watched with man
