Korra still has the avatar state and all it's powers, it gives her a major boost in strength and protects her when she's about to die, the past lives are only helpful when she needs to ask a question about something but only so much guidance can be given in the era korra is placed in. as for zaheer being given air bending there are bound to be bad apples in the bunch, it's not like there aren't bad earth, water, and fire benders, there's no helping it. in the end she further helped bring back a nation that was on the verge of extinction. finally with republic city, they're just going to have to learn to coexist

Everything you said I agree with but with the last point Korra decided on her own to leave the portals open without even considering if the spirits wanted to go back to the physical realm or if everyone wanted the spirits to come back. Both sides are even complaining about the new change.

Korra avatar state now is weakened, if you remember in the first episode of book 2 roku told aang that the avatar that the avatar state is a defense mechanism that brings the skills and the knowledge of the past avatars to you and the glow is the combination of all your past lives. With korra not having any past lives to connect to he avatar state is weakened

And actually no it isn't weakened. Its strengthened. Raava got reborn and was huge. As big as vaatu when they fused again. So her avatar state is actually stronger. Just because she can't copy moves from past lives doesnt mean its inadequate. This korra ignorance is just as irritating as korra hate.

Bruh, y'all really acting like Wan ain't had no previous guidance either and Aang honestly didn't even talk to his past lives as often nor did he listen to them like that lmao. If he did, he would of killed Ozai but he didn't so it's not that big of a deal that she can't talked to some past lives that literally wouldn't be much help with the route that she's going. Wan would of been the only past life to be helpful which he was in a sense of giving Korra a different perspective with the spirits and the human world when she saw his story. I'm glad Sheera is speaking up and seems to be the only logical thinker right now. Out of all the Avatars, only two have actually connected/spoken with Rava based on what they showed, which is the core of the Avatar state so why would she be any less powerful?

The Avatar State combines a boost of power in bending ability with the experiences and combat prowess of HUNDREDS of Avatars that mastered them over countless lifetimes. It's not something that can be mitigated by "speaking with Rava". That doesn't mean shit. All Korra gets is a slight boost in power and she has to fight all on her own and we know she's not exactly the smartest cookie in the jar

The way the grandmother praised the queen shows the corruption in how they brainwash their citizens. Ba Sing Se is the most realistic place in the avatar verse.

Huh. If you REALLY think about it... Korra messing up and erasing the memory of the last major batch of Avatars since the first is kind of a good reset because now there can be more avatars in the next 10,000 years with a brand new point of view. Can't believe I never thought about this-- let alone thought of it on THIS episode. I guess because more things are starting anew. I have no idea on what happens in season 4 though. It'll be my first time seeing it with you guys so I'm excited!

Idk. The new avatars that would've been added to the cycle still would've had their own new perspectives and experiences to add into the cycle. Instead they just have no one else in the pool and so if you say have one or two very radicalized avatars, their experiences will proportionally make up much more of the possible bank for future ones to draw upon. The entire tale of humanity is one about building off of thousands of years of experience, and for the avatar which is a very very very specialized occupation, losing such a vast experience bank is very detrimental. Imagine if there was only one neurosurgeon in the world at a time, with no one having the ability to just learn to become one, and all of the previous works and discoveries of previous surgeons were stored in some archive that only they had access too. That archive burning down would be quite the setback to the effectiveness of future neurosurgeons.

So apparently there's some info going around that the avatar after korra won't be able to contact her. I think it's because of the fact that whenever aang went to contact the previous avatars they had to use the spirit world as some type of medium until they came into full contact with ravaa? Aang's comics touched on the idea that the wisdom of the past avatars wasn't something to be relied on because they are all individuals so I imagine this is the writers for Korra being given a crappy hand by nick and doing a nose dive into this idea

I don't understand comments that claim Korra's past lives wouldnt be able to help her. I'm pretty sure dealing with deceptive public figures, unwanted military occupancy, dark spirits, and the intricacies of diplomacy are not problems unique to Korra. It is such a mistake in general to think that the modern world is so separate from the past.

Man I subscribed cause I love the content you guys do, but the blatant hate is just hard to listen to at times and makes it difficult to enjoy everyone's reactions. Like Kai's a lil shit head lol, I get that but he's like 12 and obviously had a difficult life for most of his life you gotta cut him a little slack and give the character a chance to grow. Do we not remember Toph and the gaang just straight scaming people in the one episode, or the fact the Mako and Bolin worked for the Triple Threats back in the day. Everyone does dumb stuff sometimes.
