lmao I suggest you urgently improve your reading comprehension. Where in my reply did I say I "like" the character. I'm pretty much also in the camp of understanding what he does but can't go as far as agreeing with or "liking" him. He proved to be highly complex and controversial though with different people having very different interpretations of him, requiring a very careful reading of his character instead of simply lumping him together with all the other lazily stereotypical villains, which is the point.

You can easily see if it you read the corresponding part of the manga (it's not long, just less than 3 volumes), or you can search for a summary online. Inexplicably the anime left out or changed quite a few key frames from the manga. The scene where the townsfolk discuss Bondrewd's legacy might be comprehensible due to not wanting to hire all those VAs again. The others less so.

yeah it is a unique take on a villain instead of being a stereotypical "mad scientist" or a "the ends justify the means" character, he truly loves the people he puts through hell, and sees them and their suffering as critical pieces to express his love, and for progress! also he is an awful unforgivable person he's just a unique villain, and if anyone watches the movie again notice how he's never mad or sad or anything but upbeat, even when he's not around the children, he's so sickeningly happy even though he throws morals and every ethic behind, he still loves you, and the process.

The first two movies that came out in 2019 are mostly recap movies. The one that came out recently (Dawn of the Deep Soul) is a canon sequel that adapts the next arc.

Season 2 might come out like in another 2 years. After the movie, there's not enough martial to do a second season cause the current arc after the movie is at the climax but it's not finished. Also, I heard when they are working on the anime and movie the manga drops a chapter every 2-4 months currently there is 56 out right now due to the author working on the anime/movie as well

(I know I write a lot, please forgive me) To give you guys a bit of a timeline: Nov 2017, 2 months after the season 1 finished airing, at an anime event in Tokyo with the voice actors and producers, a second season (Or just more content, hard to find good info) was announced to be going forward. I remember reading that this came as a surprise to even the voice actors, as they had not been told yet if a second season was going to happen or not. Since the end of the first season there have been 3 movies. The first two, Made in Abyss: Journey's Dawn and Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight, are the episodes clumped together into a movie format. These don't need reacting to. The third movie, Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, is a canon continuation of the story from where the anime left off. It was meant to show in American theaters in April 2020, but with the virus, the showing was postponed. From what I've heard and read, it is possible to find the movie online through some mean or another, through not-official-sites. There are trailers available for the movie and one that compiles a timeline of things along with parts from each of the trailers. I prefer to avoid spoilers as best as I can, but they could be a possibility to react to. Just a final note on production of anime that I've seen: when it comes to shows getting additional seasons, when those seasons release is very much tied to how well the show is received, the amount of content they have to work with from the source material, AND if they already planned to make multiple seasons. "Overlord" had 3 seasons in under 2 years. Either they knew they were gonna make those seasons and kept working or knew it was popular enough for them to do so. On the other hand "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" took 4 YEARS to get a second season. With this in mind, I feel we'll be getting a second season sometime in the next couple years, if this virus stuff didn't push the production timeline back AND they have enough content for a second season (Some people think the ark after what the movie shows isn't enough for a second season) TLDR: Animation takes time, Story continuation movie postponed showing, but available on backwood sites, I believe we'll get a second season next year or so.

Regarding season 2 it has been announced and greenlit but there are no dates yet. It seems you already know the third movie is a direct sequel to season 1. Still waiting on that to come to DVD/BR/digital release.

As others have said, the 3rd movie continues the story and they also announced in a preview that either a season 2 or another movie would be made to further continue the story. Probably won't see this comment, but just in case! Wanted to confirm for you guys, Maruruk is a boy! That conversation you kinda see between Reg and him, (Epsiode 6) was about the fact that he get's mistaken for a girl a lot. It's not confirmed, but "assumed" that Ozen "makes" him wear that female attire, probably to his chagrin! ;)

As far as I know, there's currently no way to watch the movie that takes place after this season finale. It released in Japan on January 2020 and was supposed to release in April 2020 but had to be postponed. And there is a season 2 coming but that was also postponed.

Made in Abyss is confirmed for S2 and a movie thats canon as well. So its gonna be like Demon Slayer, on how they doing it. IDK y Rosh thought the anime wasn't getting a season 2 or a movie. I mean Vinland Saga is on amazon prime and its getting a S2 and a movie too I think.

Nah, the movie and S2 has been announced for months. And what I meant when Roshi was talking about the show not having a S2, my thing was that Vinland Saga was on amazon prime and it was alr announced for a movie and a S2. SO I didnt understand why he was thinking that for Made in Abyss.

The production for this show just appears to be moving more slowly than most. And I think they've been waiting for the manga author to churn out more material to work with. There's a teaser which shows clips from the first season and some from the last movie ("Dawn of the Deep Soul") before a few flashes of the second season. There's also a second trailer which shows more new material from Season 2. So, I do think they're getting closer to releasing it.

Everybody kinda thought Bondrewd "is a piece of trash" when they only got to this part. And then he turned out to be such a complicated character in the Prushka arc, especially in the manga (the movie didn't do him justice at all). (Everybody in this story is batshit out of their mind but there's no absolute good or evil in this story, with Riko probably the craziest of them all.) Tsukushi is a genius.
