actually badger moles are natural earthbenders and are known to be the first earthbenders. As the legends said, the two lovers OmaShu were the first earthbenders(human) and learned from the badger moles. Every element has their first known benders learn from certain animals, for example, the sky bisons were hte first airbenders. So in all technicality, aang isnt the last airbender if we count appa lol

I hope you guys notice the theme here. The badger moles earthbend and then like they said in season one the moon water bends. Those were the first benders. Keep that in mind and think about fire and air as well

I feel like you guys missed out on some stuff trying to constantly crack some jokes. It seemed like you were surprised to see the badger moles earth bending but if you payed attention you would of heard that those badger moles are the ones who originally taught them earth bending hence making those two lovers the first human earth benders. Maybe you all knew that and I just couldn't tell but you seemed surprised when they showed up and did earth bending as if it wasn't literally explained a couple of minutes ago in the episode. I love you guys and really vibe hard with your comedy and love to see you having a good time but all I wanna say is try to keep the jokes and laughing to a minimum (DO NOT take this as me telling you to be serious and not yourself) as I want you guys to at least get the majority of the show since this is your first time watching. It doesn't require looking at the subs cause this is English but if you are laughing and talking over the dialogue you may miss some important stuff from time to time. But anyway, this episode was one of the biggest episodes of ATLA to me. I loved it as a child and the biggest part was of course the hint at the relationship between Katara and Aang with the kiss. Also I actually really liked the "cave of two lovers" song. Music really sticks with me more than anything else and this song is nostalgic as fuccckkk. Only a couple of other episodes after this really hit me like this one. (NONE OF THIS IS A SPOILER) ---> Be on the look out for a episode that features a tiny Uncle Iroh segment in it because it is VERY important. I just wanna go ahead and tell you three that the voice actor for Iroh passes away later on in the making of the series. So this is his original voice you are hearing now and his brother who has a very similar voice decided to take up the rest of the voice acting for him. The episode I am talking about is a tribute to the original voice actor and it is emotional as it is his own brother voice acting the tribute to his death. None of this qualifies as a spoiler but it is a one off episode coming up. I hope one of you reads this so you know exactly what the meaning of this specific episode actually relates to. You will know it when you see it.

Keep in mind that Roshi watches all the episodes at least one more time while editing, and he usually gives a pretty thorough recap prior to episodes correcting anything they mistook/missed
