i think it was stated in the Manga, but the " Mother Demon " was almost a Child for herself, when she became the Role of the Mother of Ruis Fake Family. She was the almost Youngest of them all. It was later revealed that compared to the rest of her "Family" she was technically the youngest demon of the family and was still copping with her previous human feelings and memories causing her to cry and grieve many times when remembering them, due to this she became a target of severe reprimand from Rui, due to her inability to be a proper "Mother" to her "Children",who were all technically older than her. It was also met with chastise and abuse from Rui and the Father.

Ok.. im dumb. I havent watched their full reactions yet and went to ep 1 and noticed just a small cut in the video that really doesnt matter if you miss or not and just assumed the rest would be that way. The cut im talking about is when tanjiros mom wipes his face lol
