The old man did the right thing If Kafka goes to fight a Kaiju stronger than himself & he’s backed into a corner and goes berserk that’d be an insane amount of trouble. We've seen enough anime to know there's always a "lose control" situation, and the defense force know about no. 9 being able to transform into humans. If I were them I'd take no chances either before u end up with a Shibuya incident. I get the frustration since we as viewers know he's the MC but I'd be on the same timing if I were them! Like why would I just be like "yeah he's one of us" and then wait and see him black out mid fight and kill everybody? Putting him in a corner is exactly what needs to happen since he's gonna end up in fight or flight if he continues to be in the force

Anime only here, Not sure you guys caught it, and I may be completely wrong, but the way it was worded in the scene were Kafka lost control was, first saying his body was reacting to the weapon like how it reacted to “that Daikaiju”, even emphasized that it viewed the director as a Daikaiju. Secondly when the parasite was talking it said kill kill, Kaiju…kill, maybe I am wrong but the parasite may just want to kill Kaiju’s and views the director as a Daikaiju or I am just coping real hard.

Kafka is the first humanoid Kaiju they can actually study. And with No. 9 out in the wind somewhere, they have every right to be weary of him (those not part of 3rd Division). Also, like previous comments mentioned, what would happen if he lost control for the first time out in a mission? At least this way, they, and Kafka, now know it is possible to lose control. Way better to find that out now at a testing site than out in the field

I think the General was in the right? This is uncharted territory. Who is to say Kafka won't loss it one day and kill is whole squad. Not because he wanted to, but because he couldn't control his self. If he losses control in a hard fight (the type of fighting he'll have to do as an officer anyway) he's not safe to be around.

Parasyte the grey the netflix live action, the original parasyte was the more conventional version with 2 minds talking to each other and aware. In the grey the parasyte cannot converse with its host and only comes out in times of danger. When it does come out the host is asleep and unaware think like moon knight. Roshi and the crew did a whole reaction to both the anime of parasyte and the live action one its pretty good.

Y'all gotta remember: they're in the military. The higher ups' word is law. If any of the lower ranked officers (the ones who know and support Kafka) talk out of turn or act out, they could get disciplined, imprisoned, or discharged. And if that happens, they'd have no power to help Kafka. So they had to obey orders at first, and then do what they were doing behind the scenes to gather evidence to support him. Also, I wish they'd have done some of the scenes closer to the manga, because Ichikawa specifically says he's willing to transfer divisions because he wants to get stronger to catch up to Kafka. And the officers who are watching the commander fight Kafka understand and call out that the commander is testing him and giving him a chance to prove himself, because he could've just killed Kafka in human form if he wanted to.

That's because Kafka is there. Think about it. Anytime someone is going to die, Kafka is there to save them. Kafka is just that strong. If they ever lost Kafka, Ichikawa, Shinomiya, Mina and Soshiro would've been packed up by now. Not to mention the people he's saved by pointing out weak spots.

At the end of this story, I believe Kafka has to pass away. It is too much of a risk to keep him alive long-term (if the Kiju in him doesn't kill him first or take over). If they find some medical treatment to remove it from him, it kind of feels cheesy, but I'm happy to see how the manga and anime progress.

I have to agree with their way of doing things. Yeah, we viewers know that Kafka is good, but other than members of Division 3, no one experienced it first hand. Hence the reaction from the higher up is normal. Y'all remember what happened during Eren's trail after his first transformation right? Levi kicked and stomped the s*** out of him. This is a reasonable development. And about what the Director did that made Kafka lose control. If I understand correctly, it was because the kaiju inside him viewed the Director as a serious threat with a Daikaiju power, wasn't it? Well then it is bound to happen at some point, possibly very soon with how the story progresses. At least here, we are in a controlled environment. If he lost control on the field, God knows what would happen. The collateral damage alone is enough to threaten his allies.

Lol, how is Shinomiya's father an asshole when his actions are all about putting the safety of the people first? Those people don't know Kafka and even if they did, they would still need to test him. And thankfully, they did. Also, Numbered Kaijus are numbered as they're discovered. It's not because he's no8 that he's stronger than no 2. The humanoid Kaiju, the one who fled from Kafka is no 9, but that doesn't mean he's stronger either. Hell, we quite clearly saw that he was weaker. What matters is their fortitudes. That;s how their inidivual strenghts are determined.

@Baron salt Note how in this episode it explains that because of his numbered weapon and sheer power Kafka is recieving kaiju signals from the director and at the end we see the kaiju say "kill. kill. kaiju... kill..." this can be interpreted two ways its simply saying it wants to kill OR its saying it wants to kill KAIJU and because of the ephasis on the whole kaiju signals from the director i think its the second option but i could just be talking out of my ass ive never read the manga
