Pretty much. There are a couple of plots that move a bit and things that are referenced in the next arc, but aside from characters that are already good getting better, it doesn't do much for anyone else. The fodder still remains fodder despite the anime REALLY wanting us to care for these random ass side characters that Tanjiro keeps cheering for. The anime-only scenes have been nice so far, tho.

After SSV arc Tanjiro's mark doesn't flare to demonstrate that it's on anymore, it's just always on that we see in infinity castle and sunrise. Another thing is that the mark is similar to Yoriichi and Koku, which we know that their's are residual as well. Also, Mitsuri in base still seems to be trash in infinity castle and up to halfway through sunrise. There's more evidence proving that only Tanjiro's is residual and it seems disingenuous to say they all function the same, when he's the only one we've seen grow in base and the rest of them seem to stay at around the same level

Definitely padding things out so they have time to animate the next arc because they certainly are going to need it. I'm enjoying the hell outta the extra content though, makes the arc more enjoyable. Also, ain't going to help but Tokito is a literal prodigy too. Doesn't help Mist Breathing is unorthodox and hard to follow. Yeah, these normal dudes are not going to get a shot in.

TLDR; 1913 or 1914 Modern Paper Airplanes were popularized around 1909 if google is to be trusted and given that the events of Entertainment District arc happened in 1913 (Based on actual Yoshiwara fire in 1913) and time passed due to recovering from battles. I'd say this arc takes place in either late 1913 or early 1914. There are bits scattered throughout the story that corroborate it to a decent degree, but I don't feel like rewatching the series start to finish for the 8th actual time just to make this comment to be 100% accurate. Ok expert school me. It's not hard to draw 1 frame then pan it compared to all the others. Considering demon slayer also uses cg effects for all of their fights it's also not big budget. Most of the scenes of the city are also cg landscapes with a chase camera. Demon slayer mainly only hand animates talking scenes or the parts in between battle. Not saying their cg is bad I think it's the most well incorporated cg in the anime industry because ufotable is really good at blending and also texturing their cg models but again it takes significantly less time to animate than drawing out each frame.

I'm anime only so just going off what I've seen so far, but I think this is more of an issue of lack of nuance. "Stronger" gets thrown around in a very general way. Obanai and Sanemi seemed to respect his sword skills specifically, that's why they went 2v1 in a SPARRING session. I personally would not take that to mean he would whoop them in a real fight

Me personally I'm a big fan of this arc. I hate it when shows (JJK) have full length battle arcs where characters are constantly dying or near death and I never even got a chance to even slightly care for them (JJK). Everyone calls me crazy but I truly believe that the thing that modern anime needs more of is filler. Not too much, but like a filler episode or two per season is perfectly fine

I get that the Hashira and Tanjiro are nasty but these other characters are still Demon Slayers, they had to pass the tests to get where they are and yet this show is treating them like they've never held a sword. The scaling is way annoying and unnatural, if you're gonna have a training arc with supporting characters can you show the supporting characters actually training and improving rather than just being like, "look how cool Tanjiro is."
