When Ichikawa was trying to tell her that he did have a good time, in Japanese he used “boku.” Till this point he’s only referred to himself with “ore.” Basically he let his guard down and was being more himself around her, which is what Yamada picked up on and why she believed him.

In terms of romcoms, holding hands this early on is a big jump, plus when Yamada tried to hold Ichikawa's hand she was hesitant because he had his hand limp but as soon as Ichikawa took control she was able to settle down. This relationship progresses as far as Ichikawa allows it to because if it was up to Yamada it would've been official since day one.

One thing I always wanted with this series is a version that has it where we hear Anna's inner thoughts instead of Kyotaro. Especially since they do hold long pauses on her to show that she is having a inner conversation with herself.

I know Yamada be having her own inner freak outs and self esteem monologs in her ditzy head trying to calculate her next move while reading Ichikawa's face and body language. That'd be a cool ep to see.
