They don't really touch on the main factions in this show but the important ones at the time of the show are the Brotherhood of Steel which were all but wiped out on the West coast and the ones in the show are all reinforcements that came from the East. The NCR which was the first newly established government in the west growing out from Shady Sands which was its capital about an hour north from the LA Boneyards. The last main faction is the Enclave which the scientist whose head everyone's after defected from.

That, in turn, inevitably leads to extinction.

Idk man I don’t find Lucy frustrating at all (and y’all are the only reactors I’ve seen who have that opinion). She’s sticking to her core values while trying to adjust to her new situation.
