PAGE 11

PANEL 1

AJ and Twilight are still walking, we can see AJ's body but not her face; yet we can see Twilight's scared face as they trot through the trees that get weedier and more decayed as they go.

PANEL 2

We see AJ's face now, but her eyes are hidden beneath her hair.

Twilight: "What's that smell?"

"I was takin' a little look around here before, where I used to have a secret hideout as a filly. Turns out, my little 'adventure' took a turn for the worst."

PANEL 3

Twilight is shocked.

"I found that somepony else, or someTHIN' else, had taken over my hideout and was usin' it for a feeding ground."

PANEL 4

We see many scattered carcasses across the weed-infested; yet dead; ground.

PANEL 5

Twilight brings her hoof to her face, covering her face in shock and disgust.  She wretches a little at the foul smell.

"A-Apple, jack.... wh-what..."

PANEL 6

Applejack looks up enough for us to see her dark, serious eyes.

"Ah know, I felt the same way when I found it. Not that I expected much less when I started smellin' the foul odour half a mile away."

PANEL 1

"AJ, we shouldn't be here!"

"But Twi, if we can hide somewhere and wait for whoever, or WHATEVER, owns this place, to come back- then, we might just catch this thing. It's GOTTA be the same monster that's been sabotaging ponyville!"

PANEL 2

"No, it's too dangerous. We have to think of a plan first, otherwise it might catch US!"

"Well what do you propose?"

PANEL 3

Twilight looks serious, but confused a little. 

"I, I..."

PANEL 4

Twilight takes another look at the soggy, sap-secreting ground with a gag.

"There is one thing I can do. But I'll need your help."

PANEL 5

AJ looks serious. 

"I'll do anythin'."

PANEL 6

Shows a close-up of one of the bodies; the freshest with the most flesh and organs still in tact.

"I need you to gather the files of all the missing or murdered ponies in ponyville ever since this all started. I'm going to run a DNA test. If these corpses match, then...."

PANEL 7

We see Twilight's eyes of wishful confidence yet fear.

"We've found our monster."

PANEL 1

Fluttershy is just waking up. And yet, she doesn't look much better.

PANEL 2

She has gotten up and we can see in closer detail how tired she is.

PANEL 3

Angel hops up to her and lands on the top of her head with a smile.

"Oh, good morning (yawn) Angel... sleep well? I... I'm not sure if I did."

PANEL 4

She takes a look at the tv and notices Cinder and Spark going on about yet another disappearance of two ponies, one body found and confirmed dead.

PANEL 5

Fluttershy looks seriously at the tv; concerned. 

"But Spark, if this doesn't end soon, there won't be anypony LEFT to-"

PANEL 6

She is interrupted by a knock at the door.

PANEL 1

Fluttershy opens the door and it is Twilight.

"H-Hi Fluttershy... sorry for barging in. I just wanted to know if you're-"

PANEL 2

Twilight stops talking and looks up at Flutter's tired face; even more so than usual.

PANEL 3

With that confused face she says,

"I-If you're... coming with us today? Only if you're up to it of course. I thought I'd let you know that Applejack and I found something rather, unusual yetserday, and-..."

PANEL 4

Twilight's voice trails off in voids and waves of echoes, as Fluttershy's eyes dim as if she has been put in a trance. Hypnotized by Twilight's voice.

PANEL 5

Twilight is still talking, but she seems blurry. 

PANEL 6

Closer to Twilight's neck; the haze of Fluttershy's hypnotized vision turning red.

PANEL 7

"Fluttershy?" Fluttershy's eyes open wide and she snaps out of her trance.

PANEL 1

"Oh-s-sorry Twilight... um, what did you say again?" 

Fluttershy asks nervously.

PANEL 2

"W-well... I want you and the others on the team to come and take a look at what AJ and I found. I haven't sent a report to Celestia just yet. I want to show the team first."

"I-I see..."

"So are you in?"

PANEL 3

"I..."

Flutter's eyes.

PANEL 4

They dim once more.

PANEL 5

Twilight is yelling.

Fluttershy is rubbing her eye.

"FLUTTERSHY!"

"H-huh?"

PANEL 6

Twilight turns suspiciously, still eyeing Fluttershy. But Flutters is insistant.

"Maybe you shouldn't come with us after all... I might just report the news after we return."

"N-no, I want to come! I want to see what you found!"

PANEL 7

"Okay, well... as long as you're well enough."

"Of course, just let me finish feeding the animals and I'll be right out with you."

PANEL 1

The team is all gathered at SugarCube Corner. Twi is looking up at Dash.

"Now let's go over today's task. Rainbow Dash, do you have the supplies?"

PANEL 2

RD holds up the supply bag in her hooves with a confident, serious face.

"All here, Twilight."

PANEL 3

Twilight is talking; the same face of a leader on her.

"Good. Then let's get going. We have to be set up before nightfall."

PANEL 4

Shows the silhouettes of the mane 6, trudging along in the afternoon. 

PANEL 5

Shows Rarity's face; concerned as they trudge.

"So, what exactly can we expect to find, Twilight? What did you and Applejack see that was so... concerning?"

PANEL 6

Twilight's serious face.

"Well, Rarity. I can't really explain it in words. I just hope you're prepared for the worst."

PANEL 1

Shows Flutters and Pinkie talking.

Fluttershy: "Well, I sure am worried about what we might find out here."

Pinkie: "I never expected we might find the HOME of the monster before the actual MONSTER! And I also never expected it would be right on Sweet Apple Acres! It was basically right under our nose-"

"SHHH!" A voice interrupts.

PANEL 2

Twilight looks around suspiciously. The sun is now starting to set against the trees that grow more droopy the further they go. They are all ready in stance for an attack; Flutters is scared with Pinkie and Rarity however; huddling together.

PANEL 3

Shows a bush russling.

PANEL 4

Shows All of them screaming!

PANEL 5

It is Spike.

Twilight: "S-Spike!? What are YOU doing here! You-you have to go back! You can't come with us!"

Spike: "But why not??"

"Because it's too dangerous!"

PANEL 6

Shows Spike. 

"Aw, come on , Twilight. I could be a great help!"

PANEL 7

Twilight has a face full of straining thought. Should she let him stay or send him home?

PANEL 1

Twilight sighs, Spike smiling.

Twilight: "*sigh* Well, it wouldn't be safe to send you home alone. And we can't afford to lose a team member to escort you, it would ruin the plan. Alright, you can stay..."

"YES-"

PANEL 2

"BUT- you have to stay close at ALL times, NO wandering off, got it!?"

Twilight yells sternly, making sure to prove her point.

PANEL 3

Spike quivers and stands back with a nervous smile.

"Y-yes... got it."

PANEL 4

They are all walking; 3/4 view.

"Are we almost there?" Pinkie Pie asks.

"Almost." Applejack replies.

PANEL 5:

Rarity lifts up her muddy hoof in disgust.

Rarity: "Elugh! What IS this horrible muck!?"

RD: "Keep your mane on, Rarity. It's just a little mud."

(Off panel) "Guys? I don't think tha'ts mud..."

PANEL 6:

Spike is pointing down to what looks like a leg bone, sticking halfway out of the 'mud'.

PANEL 1

Twilight's eyes are in shock.

PANEL 2

All the ponies stand back in fear; as AJ bends down closer to inspect the bone.

PANEL 3

AJ has picked it up, Rarity and Pinkie Pie hugging in fear as AJ inspects it between her two hooves.

Rarity: "Don't pick that thing up! I could have germs!"

Pinkie Pie: "Or bacteria!"

PANEL 4:

AJ is holding the bone at a different angle, and more mud has seeped off, revealing more of the bone than before.

Rarity is now giving Pinkie a stupid face, Pinkie looks at her.

"They're the same thing, Pinkie."

"Oh."

AJ: "Hmmm."

PANEL 5:

"Why, this ain't no bone! This is that old modelling clay project I never finished!"

PANEL 6:

AJ looks up with serious intent. 

"This means we're gettin' close."

PAGE 20:

PANEL 1:

RD: "Close to what?"

Twilight: "Applejack's childhood hideout. It's where...."

RD: "Where what?"

PANEL 2:

"It's where we're gonna find our monster."

AJ's eyes are shown slimmed and serious.

PANEL 3:

RD: "No way! You mean the savage beast has made a home out of that old hiding place you used to have!?"

Twilight: "It's no joke, Rainbow Dash. We might really see thing thing! It might really come out and show itself!"

PANEL 4:

Rarity: "Are you sure we've prepared enough? I'm not sure I brought enough supplies..."

Pinkie Pie: "Hey Flutters, you've been rather quiet. Everything alright?"

PANEL 5:

Flutters looks up a bit.

"Oh yes, I'm fine. I'm just, focusing. I'm a little worried."

PANEL 6

Twilight: "We all are."

PANEL 7

RD is covering her nose with a grossed out face and bulging eyes.

"Wait-what is that smell!?" She yells.

"We're here." AJ says.
