Slower Traffic Keep Right (Patreon)

Since I have not been producing writing as quickly or as often as I have been in the recent past, I figured I owed you all some explanation. You are, after all, paying customers, without whom I'd probably be unable to produce as much "content" as I do. For the past month, I have been dealing with a health issue, and although it is not yet resolved, things seem to be on the right track. 

I will spare you the rant that my family has heard numerous times, about how utterly revolting the U.S. health care system is, and how I would probably have all of this cleared up already if I were a citizen of nearly any other industrialized nation. But in addition to, well, just feeling kind of awful all the time, I have had to devote an inordinate amount of time dealing with medical bureaucracy. In short, my insurance will only permit me to visit specialists if my primary care provider (PCP) submits a referral. Several such referrals never happened, despite my constant phone calls, so a number of specialists simply turned me away. It's exhausting.

Long story short, my stamina and my concentration have not been 100% lately. I have been trying and failing to watch things, because I am tired all the time and my mind is just miles away. So as of now, I am a bit behind on the write-ups, and very behind on the Satyajit Ray. I will be able to get all of this done, but it might take me a minute. And basically, I appreciate your patience.

This doesn't really require a response on your part. Like I said, it looks like everything is going to be fine. I just wanted you to know that all of you are on my mind, and I am hopeful that soon I'll be able to get back to doing the things I enjoy, which includes writing for you.
