Hello Beastlings!

I hope you are all doing well! How was your weekend??

On my end, I have been grinding away on song-writing (💪yay!!💪) so I thought I would resume the Creator Chronicles series with a concept that I find myself tackling every day: shifting gears from the "real life" work to the creative work.

This is a funny concept that I often encounter when meeting new people. I am a bit immune to it on tour but since tours haven't happened in over a year now I am noticing it more. What is this "real life" everyone talks about?

This concept of "real life" has always been so weird to me. I hear it a lot with my non-musician friends. "But what are you going to do in real life? How do you feel about that in real life?" There seems to be this blanket assumption that music doesn't count as "real life" when it is in fact one of the most important parts of my identity. I don't think anyone means any harm by it but it is really funny when you think about it!

I think we are lacking a word in English to describe this different life. One is not more real than the other but we casually use that term because we just don't have the required vernacular.

It does create a bit of an identity crisis though! Sometimes my head is spinning trying to balance out "real" life and "work" life and to detach from one or the other to focus.

I have been feeling very motivated recently. Really getting a lot of cool things done. I know I can't share EVERYTHING with you guys yet but I do want you to know that I think about this FanClub quite a bit while I am writing and it gets me pumped up to picture how you guys will react when the music is finally finished!

How are you guys doing? Feeling? Winter blues are peaking right now so let's support one another and try to keep a healthy, positive attitude until we come out the other side 💙

Rock on and enjoy this episode! 🤘
