Hello Beastlings!

One of the truly amazing things about this whole direct-fan-artist platform is that we can strike when the inspiration is hot!

Last week I was chatting with Charlotte Wessels of Delain, whom you may know as one of my dear friends, fellow Patreon Creator and someone I love to collaborate with! I sang on two Delain albums in the past and I'm featured in their DVD as well. I don't think I need to explain how horrifyingly prophetic their most recent album title "Apocalypse & Chill" is...😅

Charlotte and I are both invited to participate in the Rock edition of Patreon’s livestream series “The Show Up” where creators can connect with each other and their fans while waiting for concerts to resuscitate. There is a new edition every week, with a different theme each time. This Friday is the Rock edition!

Hang with us and watch it here: https://events.patreon.com/theshowup

That's two Fridays in a row with some streaming entertainment for you... I'm digging this!

So, for the past week, we’ve been working our asses off brainstorming, writing, recording and getting everything together in order to present you with a brand new original song this Friday! You can see the premiere during The Show Up on Friday, after which it will be mixed, and presented to you on the 13th on both Charlotte's Patreon page and my own.

A peek behind the curtain - we DID get a little bit of help writing this song, as the lyrics were penned long ago by Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Siddal. Lizzie was a 19th century painter and poet, but she is best known as the red-headed woman in hundreds of Pre-Raphaelite paintings; she was the model and muse for many artists in the movement. You will likely recognize her face but maybe not so her story and talent. Charlotte and I are both fascinated by art history and we look forward to telling you more about why this woman is still so inspirational and quite frankly, relatable.

So - somehow over the past 7 days, a piece of a casual conversation turned into a spark of an idea, which in turn is resulting in a true creative collaboration in every sense of the word. Charlotte and I are splitting duties according to our strengths and I can't wait for you to see and hear the results!

Thank you all for making this possible and for taking an interest in what I do!
