Hello Beastlings!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Has anyone gotten the chance to take a look at the comet Neowise?

In case you are having cloudy nights or simply can't get a clear look, I drove to a lake and got some photos for us to enjoy.

I didn't even think I would actually see Neowise, let alone capture it, so I did this without a tripod, hence some motion blur on the photos. Please excuse that! I got these photos by shooting into the complete darkness, unable to even locate my subject in my viewfinder.  I was just looking, aiming and shooting, with the camera rested on my knee for stability. I had to slow my heart-rate and stop breathing while releasing the shutter to reduce the motion blur as much as possible!

A tripod and remote shutter would have made these ideal but I am still proud of what I managed to capture!

Neowise is visible in different areas of the sky and at different times depending on where you are, so look up your local instructions for viewing it - it is really worth seeing! Watching the comet felt like just a little reminder that we have our issues and problems here on Earth, especially now, but we, too, are just a tiny rock barreling through space. We don't actually know where we are headed so we had better enjoy the journey!

Thank you!
