I found an old photocopy flyer for a show of mine from 2005!

"The Tempest" at the top left - that was my band at the time. My third band at that point. I drew that logo using a technical pen, french curves and a big illustration board. The details are actually quite nice and I remember bumming out that the photocopies didn't do it justice! I still have the original logo drawing somewhere. I didn't draw this octopus lady but it seemed to be based upon our one and only t-shirt design at the time that I did draw (I'll show you that later!)

I also remember that the metro system went on strike the week of this show and it badly hurt our ticket sales (or at least that's what I told myself). When I tried to rebook the venue for another gig later on, they refused it and told me our types of metal shows aren't worth their time (aka they don't make enough money at the bar because not enough people show up and if they do they are underage!)

Some of you may know this anecdote already but you know our merch guy/tour manager, Francois? He runs our meet and greets so if you've come to them, he has taken your photo with your phone.😆Well, I met him around this time because we both would stand outside the big metal shows handing out flyers just like these, trying to get people to come see our bands play. In fact, one of the more pertinent memories is standing at the doors of a now-demolished Montreal venue called Le Medley with Francois, waiting for the show to end so the doors would burst open and we could launch a flyer assault upon hundreds of primed metalheads. In this particular case, Francois had actually caught a drumstick in the crowd during the show and he gave it to me as a nice gesture. That drumstick belonged to Daniel Erlandsson and the show was Arch Enemy....🤯

5$ / 7$ tickets! Come and get 'em!
