Delta 1.5b1 - Hope you have friends! (Patreon)

Today is a big one – the first beta of Delta 1.5 is now available with Local Multiplayer 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 You can now play your favorite multiplayer NES, SNES, N64, and Genesis games with up to 3 of your friends – finally making it possible to host your own Mario Party on your iPhone or iPad! This will get even better once we start work on the next beta, which will include AirPlay support so you can play with your friends on the big screen 📺

On top of this, we’ve continued to improve support for your favorite controllers. Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch controllers (including the Switch Online NES + SNES ones) all have newly optimized default button mappings. Your current mappings will stay, but you can reset to defaults if you want to try the new mappings. We’ve also made it so controllers with a dedicated “Home” or “Logo” button will use that as the Delta menu button, instead of the “Start” button.

Lastly, this version of Delta is only compatible with iOS 14 or later. In order to keep improving Delta in new ways, we have determined that we can no longer support earlier iOS versions. Specifically, this will allow us to adopt new APIs and features much faster, such as the aforementioned AirPlay support!

Our priority for the next couple months will be AltStore 2.0 – which we hope to release the first beta of soon – but we’ll continue to intersperse Delta betas throughout. Stay tuned for more Delta news!
