Music Poll #8 - Red's Theme Song (Patreon)

Hi everyone, you voted to have Red's theme song commissioned as our next musical piece, joining the ranks of Blade, Trouble, and Chase's character theme songs so far! Now's the time to open it up for your suggestions, references, and overall vibes that you think would be a good fit for Red's theme song in the game!

For anyone who hasn't seen this type of post before: character theme songs strive to embody the characters they represent! For example, Blade's character theme song captures his serious personality, military discipline, Ket heritage, and growing independence, all through things like pacing, specific instruments, and rhythms! We got fabulous suggestions for things like Asian-influenced flutes and military-style drums for him last time, which really gave shape to his song! Trouble's theme song, by contrast, embodies his rollicking free spirit and high, emphatic energy with lots of brass and ska/jazz/city pop vibes, as suggested by all of you! And Chase's theme song is largely inspired by your suggestions as well, with lots of slinky synth sounds, plucky strings, and bold brass to emulate his wild and chaotic vibes!

So, do you have any examples, vibes, instruments, or sounds that make you think of Red? I'm totally stumped for him, because all of the songs I think for him are completely modern (my brain: f-fiddles?? cello?? idk), so I'm eager to see if you have any ideas of your own! You can leave them below, or discuss them in our #patreon or #tavern-music channels on Discord!

I'll be collating all of your ideas and suggestions after about a week or so and sending them off to our composer! Irene Chan, who did Blade's and Trouble's theme songs, has become busier of late, and I have sort of mixed feelings on the process for Chase's song as being very in-character for him, but also very modern for the game in general; so I'm looking into working with an absolutely incredible artist who can lend more consistency to the musical composition side of things as a whole and can work on things as a dedicated composer (and possibly even try out alternate B-tracks or alternative takes of past songs down the road?). So I'm in conversation with him for now, and will be collating your suggestions as a kind of trial run: I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with your suggestions!
