Hi everybody, Trouble won the last poll to determine whose character theme song we should make next (narrowly beating Chase by only 5 votes)! So, as we did for Blade in the last round, I'm opening up this post for you to leave any suggestions you may have for our composer Irene when she starts working on Trouble's theme song next!

Character theme songs strive to embody, well, the characters they represent! For example, Blade's character theme song, if you haven't heard it, captures his serious personality, military discipline, Ket heritage, and growing independence, all through things like pacing, specific instruments, and rhythms! We got fabulous suggestions for things like Asian-influenced flutes and military-style drums for him last time, which really gave shape to his song!

Do you have any examples, vibes, or sounds that make you think of Trouble? Should his song be fast or slow? Brassy trumpets or fast-paced guitar and drums? Cowboy aesthetic or city street vibes? Or something else entirely? Please feel free to post links or examples: you can also discuss in the #patreon channel of our Discord if you want to bounce ideas around with others as well!

I'll be collating all of your ideas and suggestions after about a week and sending them off to Irene then! Thank you as always, and happy Valentine's Day again!

*CRACKS MY KNUCKLES* (Sorry, my first comment sent prematurely LMFAO, that must be an ominous email notification) Anyway, so I had to marinate on this because I wanted to compile a short playlist of inspiration for Trouble. After reading his and Riel's short story, man's is just a 1920's gangster LMFAO. Laura G suggesting Firefly makes sense bc, well, Trouble does have a bit of that lone ranger/western gunslinger vibe but no where in the traditional sense! (I think that's just because every scene I spend with him, I just continue to see nothing remotely southern or midwestern about him LMFAO and just liken him to a street urchin, which, I mean, he is LMFAO). The Ska rec from Ry is much closer to what I've been leaning towards, but obviously that's because it's just swing music lmfao, which is where I'm going with this. Trouble? Tis Jazz/Swing in his soul and in his steps. Trouble, Ayla, and Chase are three characters that I think really need to have songs that make you dance, because they're such big movement/action/active characters in my mind--- and with Trouble, that's just a character I can't and don't want to imagine alone? There's such a big sense of community with this guy, that two instruments or what have you gotta be going on at the same time, right? And also his background with his lil gang should have a place in his song, i.e. the parts of Smoketown and Ashtown! Instruments that make me think of Trouble are probably drums, cymbals, and trumpets (for gunshots and censoring curse words)! Now the actual like, song inspirations lol. "Tank" by the Seatbelts (Duh, the whole vibe really haha. The Seatbelts in general, I guess) "Tommy Gun Shuffle" by Tape Five (The little build up especially, but the general sense of multiple ppl present!) "Wild Side", "Lost in Paradise", and "Metropolis" by ALI (yeah, yeah they're a funk band but their music very much just makes me think of Trouble haha) "Shoot Him Down", "Swing Fever", and "Too Damn Hot" by Alice Francis (That ticky tack noise in "Swing Fever" has been stuck in my head for two days now lmfaoo, but if I had to imagine Trouble in stasis, it would be that noise) There were a few other contenders but they're much older pieces LMFAO and I'm just too embarrassed to list all those especially since I'm probably in the minority of the fandom who might diagnose Trouble with swing fever (and modern Trouble with Hip Hop/R&B, I have a Marshall Mathers joke locked and loaded haha) BUT! Overall this is the general vibe I get when I read about Trouble so!!!
