We're making good progress on the game, so I figure now would be a good time to start planning future details of chapters soon to come. Lavinet has only one person she really trusts in the Iron Court, her closest ally and childhood friend... and we'll be building this person together as a community!

Before we get to naming: should Lavinet's trusted confidant in the court be her childhood friend and personal lady-in-waiting... or the son of her father's close political ally, a minor lord of a neighboring estate?

For more context: a lady-in-waiting is a personal assistant of a high-ranking noblewoman, usually of noble but still lower status than the person she's attending. It would be a somewhat unusual relationship between two women who are genuinely friends but who are also in something of a servile dynamic. The lordly son would have become friends with Lavinet because they'd pair up deliberately to fend off unwanted marriage proposals and romantic overtures from other people, but both regard each other in a strictly familial sense.

Who should this trusted ally be?
