The world of Finetime seems happy and harmonious. But an awful terror is preying on the citizens. Can the Doctor and Ruby make them see the truth before it's too late?

It was definitely racism at the end. The whole episode she was throwing micro aggressions at the doctor. And when they were talking at the end, they were talking directly to the doctor. They can’t travel with HIM, specifically. Also, notice that there weren’t any people in FineTime that weren’t white. When you said is everyone blonde hair, blue eyes? Yes! It was intentional.

Also, I think I read Ncuti had a prior commitment, so they had to do two Doctor lite episodes to work around it.

As soon as i watched this, i thought…i cant wait to see the boys react to this. And yes, Ncuti had to finish filming Sex Education, so they could only use his a limited extent. I think thry said its back to normal next week.

They have done their best to cover it up but Ncuti was unavailable due to filming commitments on Sex Education & being required for any reshoots on Barbie but it should be better now. "73 Yards" & Dot & Bubble" were part of the same filming block between Dec 2022 - Jan 2023 also with the same director Dylan Holmes Williams too. In past seasons we had year long gaps between seasons & RTD was desperate to have Doctor Who filmed in advance. On the day 73 Yards aired, the wrap party for S2 commenced. It's a good & bad thing because we know something certain about S2 that will impact the S1 finale or must impact it into S2. Good we are getting more Who but I hope we can get at least the 10 we had in the OG Chibnall era. I had thought the 60th specials + Xmas explained why Season 1 was 8 episodes but as yet we have no official news on the S2 episode order except we know there will be a Xmas 2024 special written by Steven Moffat to come filmed & ready

The powerful end scene performance was Ncuti's first appearance on set as the lead Doctor in this season. It was filmed on 17th Dec 2022 & quite incredible (after filming his regeneration in June 2022) for a 1st day back. Due to you not having seen the 60th anniversary yet I can't & won't say more on that. RTD did question if it should be the 1st scene of the season for Ncuti but it was the way production fell & no one had a problem. So Millie Started the season filming 73 Yards at the beginning of December & Ncuti started later on in Dec but had other commitments to be full time on set for a few months into 2023. The Church On Ruby Road was filmed later on in 2023 which is similar to the 11th Doctor where Ep 4 & 5 was the first episode filmed then they went back & filmed the opening episode. I think it's also an attempt to allow the actors to feel comfortable before the pressure of shooting what is to the audience a first introduction & ease them in because they have been together for weeks filming previously.

To me I think Lindy Pepper-Bean is a full on white supremacist! The most unredeemable character in Doctor Who ever

Rekkai is spot on with bigots using made up words like ‘woke’ to argue against anti-racist sentiments.

2024-06-06 15:52:16 nctui's performance was incredible in this. his best one so far, definitely (with boom being a close second, i thought he stole the show in that episode) i thought this episode was mainly going to be about class/the ignorance of the rich, but lindy was acting more and more openly like a white supremacist through it. blocking the doctor immediately but giving ruby time to speak, the dot/bubble thing putting a warning on him but not on ruby despite the doctor presumably using the same method to get both of them into the system, and with lindy's extreme reaction to ruby and the doctor being in the same room. it does make me think how this episode would've gone if any of the other doctors turned up there; would they have listened immediately and taken the offer to go somewhere else with the doctor? would it end the same way if it was 10 and martha who showed up?
