Kate doesn’t have an inheritance by the way, she’s purely doing all of this so her mother and her sister are secure and looked after. She gets nothing from it at all. The Sheffields hate her. Her plan was always to secure Edwina and Mary’s future so they weren’t living off of nothing and then to leave the country so she isn’t a burden to them.

I agree and it's that situation that can make her blind to her actions. She's so focused on doing the right thing for her family that she's not realizing she's actually overbearing.
