My favorite tidbit about this episode is that the romantic montages shown in this episode are inspired by a fan made one released during the first season. I love that Chang and Troy (and you) both talked about if Chang was in the group or not... but if you look at the diorama they were making, they put a little Chang figure looking into the window. So even if Chang feels like an outsider, the group still considers him an important enough part of them to put him in there.

The "magician" outfit was from a shortlived NBC show called The Cape. They'll reference it a number of times throughout the show. Six seasons and a movie sort of becomes the mantra for Community. It started as this joke but as they start to worry about being cancelled, they use it as a rally cry for how long Community is going to last. Interesting, across all platforms, it ran six seasons and they made a movie.
