(Begin Unsolicited Ramble) You may know this, but in case you don't, and since you mentioned wanting to know what Dwight does in his time off, there was supposed to be a spin-off of The Office called The Farm, but NBC passed on it. Chopped up pieces of the pilot episode of The Farm were placed into season 9 episode 17 of The Office (also called The Farm) and were intended to serve as a sort of "backdoor pilot episode". The full pilot episode of The Farm (if it had been picked up) was evidently an hour long. I'd love to see it, but like most pilots that get passed over, I doubt it will ever be released. The storyline of The Farm pilot was "frankensteined" into a normal 30 minute episode of The Office as the A story, with a requisite B story set in the actual office, so I don't think it was shown to advantage. It's not one of my favorite episodes of The Office, and didn't get good reviews at all, but I liked the characters of The Farm and wish it had been given a chance to find an audience. Paul Lieberstein (Toby) actually wrote The Farm 60 minute episode and season 9 episode 17 of The Office. He had stepped down as showrunner of The Office in anticipation of being the showrunner of The Farm. (/End Unsolicited Ramble) 😝
