i think you missed it but when Rean first showed up she saved gugu from getting crushed by the bear...not that it ended up mattering :( Also i don't think god did anything to help him. i think the stone bear exploded because it was really hot from the fire and cooled down too fast when it hit the water. Shin was dropping off the food at Gugu's grave to pay his respects. When Rean and Fushi are at the grave you can see the food that Shin dropped off at it.

I also when WTF Fushi what are you doing when he took Gugu place at the end. I guess the only excuse he panicked because he didn't want Rean to see younger Fushi so did the first stupid thing he could think of then didn't know how to get out of it. I may be mistaken but I believe the yellow round thing on the Gugu/"pretend Fushi" grave are the steam bun Gugu Brother gave him. I think you were confuse about the steam bun. The lie make even less sense if the Brother meet Rean I guess everybody knew and keep going along with the lie.

But I think Rean always knew Gugu died because Fushi was yelling while fighting the bear "Gugu can't be dead!!!" or whatever he was saying. I think she might have heard him??? Idk bout that don't quote me on it haha. She could have just had a sense of what happened after she talked to "Gugu" (aka Fushi in his form). Also, about the bear exploading, I read on other reviewers comments that hot boiling water being thrown into cold water will cause that kind of reaction. Because remember Fushi used fire on the bear??? I don't think it was a case of this God person helping him out. He doesn't seem like the type tbh to help him out.
