Its best just to call them Meruem(King) Pitou(cat) Pouf(butterfly) and Youpi( big red) lol the royal guards real names are hard to remember, especially youpi's XD

Pitou was a specialist when she did the water divination, but manipulation and conjuration are right next to it on the charts. I assume that maybe that ability is a mix of the two? Conjure a little puppet master to then control something. That's what it looks like to me, at least.

No Pitou is a specialist, Reanimation doesn't fit into any other category. She can use a variety of hatsu affiliated with other categories tho, Improved recovery in term of healing herself or others is from the enhancer category, and conjouring dr blight is from the conjouring category and ofc manipulating the soldiers with her conjured clown/doll/creature takes skills in manipulations aswell. But as her specific affinity is specialist, evident from reanimation and her water deviation test

To answer your minor question to Killua & Gon holding their breath, they used bamboo shoots above the water haha. You didn't play the video spot on but close enough! :P But yeah, I literally don't know how you're gonna be able to handle this arc if you're crying at the turned humans. We don't know what Kalluto was talking about. Kalluto is also a He he just dresses feminine. Still identifies as a boy because he talks like one in Japanese. Some people theorize Feitan is secretly a Zoldyck because he has eyes like Milluki, their mom is from Meteor City, there is enough gap between Milluki&Illumi for him to be born, and the Zoldyck theme played while he was fighting. Don't believe it personally. At most since the mom is from Meteor city they are distant cousins/same chinese-ish ethnicity with little story relevance. East Gorteau is a fictional version of North Korea. That system is real to keep the country under Kim's control. The information about "Diego's Atrocities", predates the Ant problem. The Hunter'ss are basically taking their opportunity to help the country while also getting info to help with their mission. The Ant's plan is to create Nen-using soldiers out of the citizens by punching their nodes open. KIllua explained they estimate only 1% will survive the punch.

If I remember correctly the selection is what the chimera ants are doing. Without them it would be a "national celebration" that's basically just a guise to wipe out anyone they suspect is a traitor or spy and their friends and neighbours too, for good measure.

Personally I'm a fan of the theory that Feitan was originally meant to be a Zoldyck, but that idea got dropped with what happened in the election arc. Unfortunately that leaves this weird comment that Kalluto says just dangling. That said, I still think there's some connection there. Hopefully one day we'll know for sure.

The "Queen" ripping off her own tail I take for her sacrificing her "beauty" the thing she values above all else about herself, after it was marred by a single scratch by Feitan - sacrificing it entirely (symbolised by ripping off her "sexy stinger") in exchange for raw power. Like we've seen a bunch of times before, it's a kind of nen contract, sacrificing what she values most in exchange for power.

Interesting thing I read in a comment about Feitan's Rising Sun attack. Apparently when he says "piece of crap" and they all realise he's about to use that attack, the reason there's subtitles on the actual anime is because he's actually speaking backwards, fitting the theme of "reversing" all the pain he's taken upon his enemy with the Rising Sun ability.

Copied from reddit, The Phantom Troupe planets/space theme: Rising Sun - One of Feitan's ability Conjuring Jupiter (Gustav Holst orchestral music) - Bonolenov's ability Meteor City - The city the Troupe is from Moons - the phropecy referred to each members as a moon Big Bang Impact - name of Uvogin's ability. Shalnark - The name comes from Siarnaq, one of Saturn's moon. Feitan - Name comes from Phateon, old name for Jupiter, a hypothetical planet and a name of an asteroid. And another connection later in the manga.

I know for sure that Levi was inspired by Feitan, and I'm guessing the same with Annie and Pakunoda.

I’m really sorry you had such an issue posting ReZero on YouTube. You’ve made it far enough where you should be able to watch the intro. Feitan is definitely the most powerful of the Troupe outside of Chrollo. I can understand why the transformed people get to you, but this arc gets a lot darker and a lot more emotional. If you want, I can give you a list of episodes you should probably watch with a tissue box nearby. Gin and Killua are both trained, Gon in nature, Killua as an assassin, so being able to hold their breath for long periods of time is likely in both of their skill sets. Remember, the squadron leaders (the lion guy) serve the queen, only the royal guards serve the king, so the lion and his allies didn’t betray the king by any means. Also, yes, that laugh was very cute.

Here what the selection is from what was said during episode 98. In Killua and Gon conversation in this episode we learn that there are 5 millions people in this country. Killua also said if there is 1% survival rate that give them 50 000 soldiers. They way the selection is done is they hit people with Nen if they survive they can be potential Nen users so will be useful as soldiers. Now If they don’t have any Nen potential they die. That is why they say if we wait we are sacrificing 5 millions people. The whole East Gorteau population. Knuckles and Shoot argument is this plan with the chairman is the only way to save humanity. From their perspective they don’t see any other way, So by sacrificing the whole EG population the plan has more chance of success. By saving the population the plan will more likely fail and the King will conquer the whole world. At least that is what they think will happen in their view. So TLDR Selection is to select all the potential Nen User from the whole East Gorteau population and kill the rest.

Okay so they want to find human nen users and turn them into chimera ants? Wouldn’t they need a queen to eat them and then make them into ants or are they just going to do what the scorpion queen did? I thought they might want them to eat them but making them into soldiers makes more sense.
