Great reaction! everything you've talked about is great. Subaru and emilia had a very realistic argument! i felt like i would have heard the same type of thing at a mall or a bar between a bf/gf haha. This author is great with writing out realistic conversations. i'll recap the ryuzu situation just incase you were wondering. 3 currently on rotation: Ryuzu arma Ryuzu Bilma Ryuzu Delma Ryuzu shima got removed from the rotation because she broke the contract with echidna because she entered the tomb to save garfiel who was taking the trials as a kid. The "contract" was that sanctuary residents aren't allowed to take the trial. So garf went in there to do it for some reason and shima went to save him, thus she is exiled. Shima now lives in the forest, and because she entered the tomb, she has knowledge that the rotational 3 ryuzu's don't have which is why subaru wanted to have a talk with her. Subaru can't go himself because he has to deal with emilia so he sent otto, who was then confronted by garf and thus this whole scene escalated haha. Garf lives with shima, and for some reason she's missing. That's just a quick recap!

The insert song "Door" by Takahashi Rie (Emilia) perfectly fits the message of this episode. It's about having the courage to take a step outside the door towards tomorrow, no matter how difficult it may be, and what fate awaits. The amount of growth Subaru has over the last 2 seasons is something I never imagined, I used to think he doesn't deserve Emilia

2021-08-01 22:55:44 I think what Emilia was also doubting was if Subaru was really loving HER or just some idealized idea of her he had in his mind; he had to show her that he knew about her flaws & STILL loves her and that he does stuff for her because he wants to help her and not because he thinks she's too weak to do it herself also with them touching first base in season 2 already, wonder how far they'll be by season 5? ;P

So our boy Subaru professes his love, and lists all her physical attributes before anything else, lol. The word superficial comes to mind. But I guess in the context that they're teenagers, the conversation makes sense, they're still maturing. One of the later themes of AOT is memories affecting personalities. Will Subaru stick around when she returns to herself? Or will he try to keep the damsel we've seen in the show? 22:27: Pato's probably cackling to themself.

You could call it superficial or you could say he took a page out of Rem's book. She did the same thing when she confessed her love for him.
