Finally!!

Edit: I just went back and rewatched the episodes and I realized that the research team stated that the king is able to reproduce with other organisms. The fact they they are able to mate with other species makes these ants even more impressive, but all the more dangerous. Now I see why they are able to populate so fast... 🤯

I just started the video and already I have 2 things to say: 1 - Not posting because you don't feel good is not disappointing. This is not worth it if you're not well! 2 - You have been massively big-brained in this arc, like amazing really. You absolutely have the finger on the pulse regarding the plot.

As I said before, the pacing is just fine. Everything is ok!

AwakeProductions

Aww. Thank you. I know I’m probably being too hard on myself, but disappointing you guys or not delivering on what I promised makes me feel horrible. You guys are so supportive of me so i always want to make you all happy.

Randomization of a weapon is like restriction which enhance the weapon I guess.

Sorry for yet more long comments, as usual, you just give me so much to say and think about! 😋 Phagogenesis was the term that referred to how the queen could pass on the traits of the things she consumes to the next generation of chimera ants that she births. Remember how the strict rule Kurapika set made his chains multiplicatively more powerful? The more restrictions you place on a nen ability, the more powerful it can be, so Kite not being able to choose which weapon is summoned, and having to use what he gets before he can roll again - both act as restrictions which make the weapons multiplicatively more powerful than they would be if he just summoned them intentionally. The fact that he can get a completely ill-suited weapon for the fight, and will have to use it no matter what before he can roll again, makes all the weapons far more powerful. btw Rammot went through the same awakening that Gon and Killua did, as well as the three maimed fighters that challenged them in Heavens Arena. If you recall, Wing said that the shock of a nen attack can open one's "micropyles", or pores, and that it's a traditional greeting to people entering floor 200 without nen. Gon's rock-paper-rock punch had the same effect as when Wing awakened Gon and Killua or when those three fighters were met with that "greeting" at floor 200. Your thoughts about the ants seemingly being geniuses or having unlimited potential - on the one hand you can look at it like this: phagogenesis, the process of taking traits from multiple species and adopting them into a new chimera ant, takes all the best qualities, all the strongest qualities, makes a chimera with the best possible genes from those available. But also--and this is my own theory, not official or anything--in the cases where ants were made from multiple humans, I think that the most intelligent or talented person is the one whose personality shows in the reincarnated ant. So it's not that each ant is naturally a genius or has incredible potential, it's that out of the dozen beings it was made out of, one was especially talented or intelligent, and *they* are the ones that, I guess, got in the driving seat of that reincarnated body.

Well great reaction, seems like you’re just having a blast. The ladybugs represent the various approaches humans have to other lifeforms, either immediately squashing them without hesitation and with prejudice (sort of like the AoT theme of “opposing the unknown and unfamiliar”); or letting them be or coexisting. The ending song would be a fun object for interpretation in the following episodes. And I think we‘d enjoy hearing you sing the opening a few times after episode 91. The tone of the arc with the opening music and lyrics (and their meaning) is an interesting contrast many fans relate to lol. 🎻

Phagogensis was described on a previous episode. It's just the word they use for the chimera ant reproduction. Eating things, then children inheriting their features. It was easy to miss though, as I think they only said the word once. :) Nice reaction btw. I enjoyed these episodes. Dont feel bad that you got emotional. What those ants were doing was messed up.

Please take care of your health FIRST. I am more concerned about if you are feeling good, rather than seeing a new video. We might be strangers, but we do care! You are never disappointing us by taking proper care of yourself. If you need a few days of decompression and healing, take it!!!! Please do not feel like you are falling behind, because we arent going anywhere. We will be here long after you feel better. And those people close to you will also understand you need to recover. Don't beat yourself up friend <3

Christopher Rivera

I think of the “reincarnated body” of the chimera ants as something of a biological equivalent to the “sleeves” in Altered Carbon.

Christopher Rivera

The queen is sort of similar to a female praying mantis which eats the male directly after mating to give its offspring an immediate source of nutrients. But the queen goes further and turns her food into the parent/s of its offspring, blurring the line between parent and child by inheriting memories for the purpose of quick adaptation (like being able to speak right after birth).

Oda Nobunaga

wow I feel completely enlightened about the ladybug situation. One got slapped by the businessman, another ignored by Netero, and the last one interacted with in a peaceful manner by Kite's companion. The high in power people do not want anything to have a chance to be more powerful, while the hunter association is neutral, and kite's group (I think hinting at Gon somehow) would not mind coexisting.

Christopher Rivera

I like the continued contrast in Gon and Killua’s fighting styles. Killua relied on his claws against the stinger girl and electric nen on the rhinoceros ant, but also unlike Gon he was very evasive and cautious against the latter. Gon is just a glutton for punishment, armadillo ant hits him and he decides to let him get hit again so he can grab him and crush him, again showing a lack of concern for his physical wellbeing, focusing on how he can spare the creature to then decide it doesn’t deserve to live... this was his first kill. Killing an animal is very relevant to chapter 1 of the manga (or episode 1 of 1999) wherein he protects a wild foxbear despite its claws digging into him, because he could relate to and empathize with it, having just lost its mother, then naming it “Kon” clearly reflecting what protecting it meant to him (also brings to mind how Leorio was traumatized by his own loss and decided to become a doctor because of it).

Always make sure to take care of yourself. I really hope your stomach feels better, I know that feeling, and I know how much it sucks. I've said this before (in a YouTube comment granted), but I'd much rather you not upload and upload again when you feel better, rather than uploading earlier while you feel bad. I don't know where you think you "don't get a day off", but everyone should take time for themselves when they need to. I am happy you're reacting to these episodes since it's stuff you've wanted to see for a bit.

Radoras

think so too; I guess while it gives him flexibility, the randomness & "have to use what you get"-condition are the downside. e.g. the Scythe would be a problem in tight spaces or with allies around you would hit as well

Radoras

Look, we really appreciate that you put so much effort & thought into keeping the schedule for us, but...the only way you could "let us down" would be if you ruined your health or forced your way through the recording feeling like shit & us knowing we're the reason you push yourself so hard. It's sweet of you, but please don't let YOURSELF down as well! Feeling better-> better video -> happy patreons -> profit 😊

Killua X

Just wanna point out that when Gon squished the armadillo chimera, is the first time (I believe) he's killed a living sentient being in the anime (and it was savage). He still proposed that they could just give up, promise never to eat a human again, and he would let them live. But when they declined, he went for the kill. I think it's interesting how different this all feels compared to the last arc. The boys just landed in this situation (literally with the Accompany card), but they are stepping up to the plate. I think a lot of it has to do with Kite, who immediately garnered their respect and has become a great mentor who immediately realized their capability and potential and doesn't treat them like kids. Speaking of Kite, I don't think the number that his Crazy Slots nen friend draws is an indication of how strong the weapon is. In other words, 9 wouldn't be the best weapon and 1 the worst, it's just random. Also, when he says things like "another bad spin" or "such a drag", it's just a reflection of his character. He's kind of like Killua in that he's a casual badass.

Killua X

About the pacing, it is turning out to be great so far. But, we do have some pretty dope/awesome/incredible events in this arc that have episodes before them that build up the hype. So, if you were to end a reaction on one of these hype episodes right before one of those events, all that momentum would be lost in the 3-5 days until you do HxH again. I just want to explain the reasoning why many of us will be recommending/requesting/begging you to do a triple a little bit down the road.

Diego Zenhäusern

The fights in these episode were just dope! I' loved the moment when they turned the camere on it's head, I was just like: Oh no, the didn't just do what I think they did😲😅 And you're right scythes are great!

Alex

Sure but at the same time FMAB has been getting shafted for a while; would be awesome to have a double of that sometime too. Love the reactions and all; not meant to be a negative comment.

Christopher Rivera

I especially like how the fighting styles, midfight dialogue, and internal monologue reflects on the character’s personalities. Gon is straightforward, headstrong with little aversion to pain, and emotional. Killua is cautious, deceptive, and tactical. Kite is patient, elegant, and analytical.

Killua X

I just re-watched the reaction (cause I do that sometimes 🤷‍♂️) and forgot to say that I don't think you ever let us down. I know I haven't been here that long...but long enough to see that you always come through. I know you stress about it a lot so I hope you can see that we appreciate you and care about your well-being. I mean, at the very least, we want you to enjoy these shows and experience them when you're feeling good. I know you're still gonna feel bad, pressured, and anxious at times but hopefully words from all of us over time will help ease that a little. Always looking forward to seeing you next time 😊.

Oh fuck next upload is gonna be wild. We're approaching the tipping point bois.
