I just noticed that in the last two months I have lost quite a bit of patrons. I’m wondering if there is something I’m doing wrong or am I not uploading enough? Is the content that I am reacting to right now not interesting enough?

I’m sorry if this seems like I’m being materialistic. This is the way I make a living yes but I’m also feeling really self conscious right now. I feel like maybe I’m letting people down.

If you guys have anything to say please post it below. I’m all ears.

Your reactions are great I've been a patron for a few months now and it doesn't seem like anything's changed if people are dropping off it could just be loss of interest on there part it happens sometimes it's not you it's there interests can change ya know.

If i speak for myself, maybe it would be because at some point there was a lack of upload for a little while. But don't misunderstand, its not your fault ! You needed some time for yourself. You went through a lot a that time.

Tbh I had to sub to your patron because I love your vids

I agree , I've been a patron for like half a year now and I think your reactions are entertaining. I personally think you are doing a great job but maybe some people would like more uploads or more anime reactions , tho I believe you shouldn't exhaust yourself and get burned out . I'm just trying to say you are doing a good job so don't stress to much

i love your videos and love watching your reactions. i personally do not like watching reactions on mega because its reallyyyyyy slow for me. but, because its you, i am still a loyal patron. love your reactions!!

FYI, numbers always dip at the very start of the month from people who need to verify their payment info. I don't have access to your monthly trending patrons but don't compare your peak numbers from last month to the first day of the next month. Compare them to the first from last month. That will give you a better idea as to how you're doing.

Hmm well content-wise you are currently watching what are possibly two of the best anime shows ever(HxH and FMA:B), plus weekly and very early reactions to AoT, and TPN. So I don't think you could really be doing more on that front. It might be due to external factors, but I've cancelled my subscriptions to other creators and it asks you why you're cancelling. I should hope you would have access to at least part of that information.

Norrin Radd

You great, but people's interests do wane in shows in general, so they pop in and out. Everyone loves you though, so keep up the good work. If you need a week off to decompress and get out of your head a lil bit we'll understand.

I enjoy the reactions but im also considering ending it because to me its not a lot of uploads of the show I like Most (hxh). And the monthly price is quite expensive in EU price compared to other patreons. But like I said I definitely enjoy your videos and that's why up to now im still a patreon

Cameron Hall

HXH and FMAB I've not seen. So i really only watch your AoT reactions. (Seeing TPN s2 once is enough for me haha). I'd imagine that your patrons will grow more once you start re zero s2 and when my hero starts back up. Not sure how your scheduling is but maybe add another popular anime that fairly new. Obviously one that you're interested in. Your reactions are great and you pay attention. Which is definitely one of the most important factors in being a reactor. Keep it up :)

I really enjoy your reactions and I will always look forward to them. The only thing that has sorta turned me off is when you might go on a long rant at the beginning or in the middle of an episode, but that doesn’t happen very often and you’ve been doing a good job of calling it out and saying you’re trying not to do it as much. But again it’s pretty rare that you go on a super long rant like that. As for losing patrons I can only assume it’s due to people not being interested in the shows you are reacting to now. Could be the arc we are in for HH and people are more into other current popular shows than ATOT and Promised Neverland. Something that might help is more fan interaction? Maybe more random polls or Q&As? Anyway, def. excited for all your reactions and I’m not leaving anytime soon haha. Hope this helps a little.

Cameron Hall

Also don't be afraid to just start reacting to something without a poll. I reckon a lot of people haven't seen some of the stuff you ask about and just vote no. Might get them interested into a new show if they see you reacting to it.

jacob

A lot of people are seasonal anime watchers and only watch whatever is popular at the moment, so like right now if you were reacting to jujutsu kaisen and re zero or doctor stone more people would subscribe at least in the short term. In terms of gaining patrons I think the best way is probably to just ride the hype of whatever the flavor of the month show is will get you more viewers than reacting to long classics like hunter x hunter.

Christian

I wish i had something helpful to add, but you are the only person who I watch react and who I have ever subscribed to and I just do it because I really like the animes you've been watching and your energy during them. Sorry you are feeling this way and hope someone else has some actual stuff that can help you. but I'm almost subscribed for a year and have zero plan to stop anytime soon. love the content and always looking forward to it.

I agree with some opinions above, if you are able to add an additional show to what you are watching that would bring interest. As well as more current animes as well. Watching older longer animes might cause some to leave until after you have finished reacting to the series. Everything else might be preference as I like your reactions a lot. If you do choose to react to something else I think you had said you were already watching jujutsu kaisen, but another ongoing anime that is really good is Mushoku Tensei jobless reincarnation.

Dont comment often but here is some objective criticism. Try to watch newer popular anime like demon slayer and vinland saga.. that will pull in some newer people... have more interactions on youtube and on here... sometimes u go off on unimportant stuff and go on long rants all though this has gotten better recently.. its good to share your thoughts obviously but try to make things balanced and lastly try to improve the qaulity of your brand/ videos in general.. for e.g. save and get a better camera, lighting etc. Take this with a huge grain of salt and at the end of the day do what you gotta do. Gd luck with everything

I like what we have going on here. I like how you are "clueless" about what's going on which leaves a lot of room for you and everyone to discuss. Some reactors have it all figured out and there's really nothing to say to them. I much prefer a blank piece of paper eager to learn rather than a full cup of water with nothing more you can add into it. Keep up the good work and you'll be just fine :)

I doubt what I say here will be worth anything because I comment all the time and you already know I think you're the best. But I've been checking out a few other channels lately (Patreons) and 1) you give the best quality vids (many others do reaction timers) and 2) you still kill the Youtube/Patreon sub ratio (which I know doesn't matter much if all you're looking at is that total number getting lower every month). As far as content goes: you're doing two of what are considered 'best of all time' animes (which reactors will always do, just look at how many just started One Piece and HxH this year), and two popular current animes, one of them being the #1 show in America right now. Average expected Patron conversions is 1-5% for 30k YT followers with 15% traffic to your page. That means 45-225 Patrons for someone with 30k YT subs. From the dozen or so channels I've seen, in reality, this number is at the lower end. Currently you're at 6% Patron conversion with your 38k YT subs. And like someone else said, it's the 1st of the month. I know this prob doesn't matter because all you see is your number going down, but wanted to let you know I'm not just talking out of my ass. I think you're overanalyzing and shouldn't take this out on yourself. There's a lot of external factors especially going on right now in the world that can make your numbers swing widely. When you get into the CA arc for HxH and when you start doing Re:Zero again, I guarantee your numbers are gonna go up (I'll call it right now, at least by 100). And when those shows are over, your numbers may go down a lot and you'll be back here questioning yourself. Just keep doing what you're doing, being yourself, and if anything, advertise your Patreon more. There's stuff you shouldn't say publicly on YT about it, but I feel like if more people actually checked it out, they would join.

Sometimes I will end all my subs just before the end of the month either because I spent too much that month and am taking a break, or because I just want to make sure my finances are ok before gradually resubbing to each page. Also there can be literally nothing wrong with a page, but I'm only there for one specific show, so I come and go depending on what reactions someone is doing that month. I'm happy, nothing has changed in your output since I first subbed. There are many reactions to HxH ongoing right now but yours is the only one I get excited for.

JD

In any case you should definitely expect a dropoff of subs at the end of the month, it's only natural.

Hello. Im relativeley new to your Channel (Joined in January) and already finished Death Note, SDS, Shield Hero and im ongoing with TPN, HxH and Re Zero (AoT follows when its finished lol). For me personally there was only one thing i didnt „liked“ and that was the overdrive of your mic lol, but i have the feeling that this is better now. And like others said there will always People come and go. I for myself like the thing with the Docs, i downloaded all the Reactons i like and watch them offline, but maybe People do the same, Download/watch them all but then they leave. For some its just too expensive (not you specific, just in general), especially if they follow more reactors like me :D

The comment had alot of good advice but there is one thing I didn't see people mention and that is to improve your video thumbnail. Having a creative or high quality thumbnail would definitely intrigued people to join. I suppose try to look on more successful reactor and see what kind of thumbnail they do and try to incorporate it with your own style to be unique. I remembered that pewdiepie advice for getting successful video a couple years back is to have a great thumbnail. Infact he stressed that it is very important to get it right. Other than that I suppose hop on the trend would def get in more new viewer like some have said.

Anonymous

Also to note, I haven't seen your youtube video for a long time. So I don't know what your thumbnail look like but improving it even better should yield good result I hope.

Radoras

It's great that you value our opinion & try to improve, but one thought I had: I don't know if it's possible, but if their accounts on patreon are still active after the cancelled subscription, it may yield you better results to contact those who dropped and ask them why they're gone? After all, the ones who are still here & reading/posting are the ones who DIDN'T drop out, so we might be sliiiiightly biased there ^^'

Diego Zenhäusern

I'm personally happy with the amount of videos you produce (I don't think I would have the time to watch to a lot more🙈😂) and I don't think the quality has been going down or something. I'd assume it's (as a few already mentioned) because its the end/ beginning of a month (and maybe because the current arc in HxH doesn't seem to be a fan favorite...so some people might jump back on when you're in the next one?)

Cephandrius

I think its honestly an issue of what content youre putting out in the sense that atm youre putting out hxh and full metal which are older series whereas new series like re zero or slime etc have people watching the new episode on their own and then jumping to look for reactions. I think youre one of the best solo reactors I have seen and youll see an increase in patrons when youre reacting to the more recent series. But thats just my guess. But I dont think it would be wise to react to popular/new series just because they'll get you more patrons, only do the ones you want to, quality over quantity imo. Also a lot of people (especially because of covid) just buy a month and literally binge all of your stuff that theyre interested in and then leave I did that at first but decided that isnt really supporting you at all so I stuck around. The only other reactor I watch is YaBoyRoshi and although their content is very different (in the sense that they are a group and more comedy centric than commentary and analysis centered) but they do quite well I believe so maybe take some inspiration from them in terms of scheduling / what shows to focus on? Again this is just one patrons guess lol.
