Which episode of fullmetal was the recap? Was it 27 or 28? I’m going it be recording fullmetal later and I just wanted to make sure it’s the right one.

27, but it also have like 10% new, but not vital character development. AND, it is the last time you will hear "let it all out" outro.

Yeah. It's definitely still worth watching even if it is "just" a recap. We get new insight into a certain character and even the old scenes are given a new light thanks to editing and new music being played over them

27 is the recap. There is a small amount of new content giving some insight into Hohenheim's charcter, but not really enough to justify watching. Skipping through it also seems like a bit of a pain, but if you feel like watching it you could do so.

You are so lucky that you aren’t watching as it premieres. I remember going into 27 thinking about the cliffhanger at the end of 26 and being hit with a recap.

I'll forgive Studio Bones for that. Not only has this been an incredible series at that point, but the recap episode was also so well made it tied up everything we've watched thus far into one message the author wanted to deliver.

Episode 27 gets a lot of crap but it's actually a very well structured and enjoyable episode. At first I was frustrated because I was expecting to continue from where 26 was ended but the fact that the episode 27 offers an insight to Hohenheim's character via recaps before the boys meet the father seems intentional
