Fantastic reaction, can't wait for the next uploads.

He may be a hunter now, but I guess he's not a hunter yet

Yeah neither Gon nor Killua is a match for Killua's brother, give it another 10 years

Christopher Rivera

It’s a bad idea to tell her if he meets Ging. Hopefully other fans know why?!

I knew you'd be triggered lol. Great reaction tho, you were affected more strongly than most. We went from Gon being physically tortured by Hanzo to Killua being psychologically tortured by his brother. Leorio gets a cool moment helping Killua understand Gon is already his friend which surprised him since it's his first friend, so he doesn’t understand how friendships are formed, and this probably also implies that his family do not have friends like Gon, Leorio, or Kurapika for him to observe or understand. Remember Gon said "if you want to get to know someone, find out what makes them angry." Hanzo beat him for hours and was surprised he showed no hostility (later he’s happy to see him) but he had plenty of hostility towards Illumi for hurting Killua emotionally. I never hated Illumi, I figure he had the same childhood and unlike Killua he didn't have a "Gon" to show him friendship, or to realize it’s something he wants. Just look at how expressionless he was (even when his arm was broken). And if he really can hypnotize people, who's to say he isn't also a victim of it? Gon accuses Illumi of forcing Killua to kill but that probably isn't entirely true. We see Killua enjoy killing Johness and take out his frustration with Netero on two hunter applicants back on the airship. It does tell us how trusting Gon is of his friends that he sees them in the best light. You mentioned Gon seems to not really care for strangers as he does his friends but that’s relatable for most people to some degree (like myself). How you felt about Illumi is an example of this. I think the saying “be careful of fighting monsters lest you become one” also applies to how we justify our actions out of empathy. From Psychology today, Inside The Mind of a Psychopath -Empathic, But Not Always: “How can psychopathic individuals switch their empathy on and off? All of us have such a switch. We are more empathic towards the pain of our friends, than towards the misery of the people on the other side of the globe. Acupunctures learn to suppress their empathy to the sight of a needle entering skin. Reducing empathy, sometimes, has clear evolutionary benefits: if you need to defend your family from an attack, you cannot afford to empathize with your aggressor. Our default mode, however, seems to have our empathy on. Individuals with psychopathy seem to have a slightly different switch: their default mode seems to be off.” Poor Bodoro, the one who didn’t want to fight kids was killed by one. In the 1999 adaptation, he gets more screentime (and so do other applicants) including a pretty funny scene before the 5th phase.

On the subject of empathy I think Devilman Crybaby would be a good watch. It’s only 10 episodes. The Netflix adaptation is from 2018 but the manga was from 1972 and has influenced many great and popular anime/manga like JoJo’s, Berserk, Parasyte, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter, and Tokyo Ghoul.

Hats off to you sir, you are one of the true hunter x hunter fans who truly understood the message the author is trying to deliver under the disguise of a happy go lucky vibe, these kids are very questionable. We have Gon here who used people as live bait so he can steal Hisoka's tag, and Killua who kills for his own amusement, I love killua's character but that is just something that can't be justified. Whether it's their fault for being this way or not, it shows how dangerous a child can be if not raised properly.

You mean its not normal to have those kinds of cruel fantasies about evil manipulative assholes?

Radoras

"I hate it when people manipulate people's memories and minds" Your Code Geass-reactions beg to differ XP

AwakeProductions

Hmm. I guess it’s different when those people deserve it? 😅 that’s shitty I know. Or also when manipulating them or changing a memory will end up saving a persons life.

How do I watch the reaction?
