My biggest trouble in fullmetal alchemist is that I cannot decide which intro is better, they are all amazing, each one literally burns money away from the studio

For me, the best one is the second to the last intro, then the first and last intro are a tie for second fav.

I’m too indecisive to decide which one is better. I like them both. I would say I like number one better for now just because I’ve heard it more. I think once I hear this one multiple times, it’ll grow on me. Maybe I’ll end up switching!!

Kudos for remembering Xingese Alkahestry from the second episode! You must really pay attention. I couldn't catch that during my first watch of the anime. The thing about their search for immortality is they want to find it to gain favor of the emperor so that they can be the next emperor and guarantee that their clan survives because if someone from other clans become the emperor they might want to eliminate other clans.. They might want to prolong the current emperor's life but they don't actually want to make him immortal.

I think what Ling meant is obtaining the power to claim the throne after his father dies rather than keeping the current emperor alive

good luck with that, it's been nearly a decade for me and I still can't decide among all the intros, the tone of the intro matches the tone of the story so now we're getting into the hype :)

You're at the point where the 2 anime diverge so everything from here out is Manga stuff that's why it's so jarring what with all the characters showing up suddenly. I still recommend the first series for a more measured take on these first 15 episodes and completing it if you want to. Plus side is you can check the beautiful original series openings and endings without spoilers for this show.

Hmm, I think the original anime definitely gives some interesting additional info on the beginning here, but personally I didn't enjoy the later episodes and the ending near as much as with this one...but maybe that's just because I saw this one first:/...
