So it's actually true that there's this "thing" in Japan and even other Asian countries like Korea where it's considered very bonding to bathe with a friend and it's supposed to be symbolic about when you're exposing everything, it's harder to hide things and that phrase means a bunch of things but people interpret it pretty much all the same

I'm Finnish, and we have a similar kind of thing w/ saunas. Even some public spas etc can have saunas separated by gender AND a mixed variant (although this is less common, mostly because it's cheaper to build 2 saunas instead of 3, obviously)
