IMO it's a pretty funny show, barely nothing is made to be taken seriously including the plot. It's a succession of stupid scenes and epic scenes, and it's fairly short. It's also a very unique show, both in the visuals and in the way the story is told. I liked it, it's far from being goat-tier like Code Geass is to me, but it's very enjoyable.

It's a very good and unique show, but also controversial. I would try not to listen to the people saying it's just ecchi or fan service, one of the core ideas of the show is exploring human obsession with hiding obscenity like nudity and criticizing Japan's over-conservative censorship. It's a show where you can either look at it deeply and see its messages or look at it shallowly and just see an ecchi anime. It's by the same people behind Gurren Lagann which was similar, good messages hidden behind insane action and randomness.
