well, don't know what I would do in Braun's place...but SERN is smart, so maybe they waited with the f'ed up shit until he had his daughter? Like "allright, you don't want to, k...sweet daughter you have there by the way" What would you do then? Also smart how they structured their agents: get one they have HUGE leverage over, then have him recruit a handfull of desperate, naive outsiders that would do anything for that kind of attention; even if they turned on Braun, Braun would never betray SERN because of his daughter, so nothing gets tracked back to them.
