Hey Everyone!

For my fellow Americans, I hope you are having a fantastic Thanksgiving! I wanted to give you all a first look at what I have been working on lately...A little animation for my newest illustration! Not only am I doing this to cover the animation components of Procreate for my course, but to get ready to test out Procreate Dreams!

I know alot of people are doing reviews and I am happy to see it. It is definitely not a beginner friendly app at first glance. Theres ALOT of hidden features and tools hidden behind the deceptively simple UI. I am digging into it though and really looking forward to how it performs within these next few months. It has already topped Lumafusion in the App Store for Photo & Video so I say thats a big deal. Procreate has a chance of becoming just as well known with Dreams in the video industry. Anyone can add simple animations to their work or videos now. There literally isnt an easier tool to quickly animate an image moving across the screen for a piece of short form content!

As for the animation, I am extremely proud of it. I looked at this tutorial on YouTube to get it done, along with some references that I am including in this post.

She does an excellent job explaining the logic behind everything and I was able to follow step by step as If I was animating in 3D like she is.

I am also including the procreate file that has the animation! Fair warning though...it may not open on your end because It is part of a file that I have been working on for at least 30-40 hours so the embedded Timelapse may cause issues. I'll try to see if I can remove it though. Might make the painting process go a bit faster as well....

I hope you enjoy the demo and find it helpful!

EDIT: Wow Turns out you CAN purge the recordings from your procreate files! This would have been good to know awhile ago...Now the file is so much smaller! I bet it will run better too...

Happy late Thanksgiving. I'd say give this program a good year so it has enough time out in the wild for Procreate to get some feedback and do updates. I think though, that in no time there are going to be some amazing projects coming, hopefully with some breakdowns on how the creators did it. I am gonna buy it and do Aaron Blaise course on Dreams he has coming out sometime next week.
