PATREON UPDATE, 11/1/24 (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone! It is time again for another update. Let's get straight into it!
KINDRED HEAVENS
We have two major pieces of news to share with you all about Kindred Heavens this month.
First, we'd like to say that we have officially begun writing Book Four!
Second, we'd like to say that, for a long time, we have wanted a colorist for Kindred Heavens. Our reasoning for this is that it will help us finish the series much more quickly, as well as take some of the workload off Scott. Unfortunately, we hadn't found anyone that was able to match Scott's style as perfectly as we wanted.
Until now!
From here on out, our good friend Nek (@_nekiis) will be handling the coloring duties for Kindred Heavens! We are absolutely thrilled about this and supremely confident in his work 🫡
Now, let's hear from Scott!
Hey guys! Really busy month, huh? Wait, what do you mean I only got halfway through my pages according to this chart?
OH! Right, I can explain. We have a colorist now. So the color coding is a bit different, that dark green are lined pages, the bright green is fully colored pages, medium green(81/82) are penciled, and light green are thumbnailed.
You may notice no color on 88-116, and that's because I remembered I have to re-thumbnail all of those pages. It shouldn't delay anything.
With the colorist, I'm hoping to be able to do around 30 lined pages per month, I'm not sure if I will be able to get that pace, though. It will be even more work than I'm doing now. But here is hoping!
Same as last month, we can't show too many snippets because of spoilers, but here are a few:
THE GOOD BAD GUYS
Last month, we plotted The Good Bad Guys Book Three. This month, we wrote it! 56 pages fully finished and with that, the first arc of the series has been fully written. Unfortunately there isn't too much we can talk about here without it be spoilery, but we're very proud of this first arc!
HUNTER
This month's update is very similar to the last. Everything is progressing smoothly. Lonnie is very hard at work! Most of what is being worked on currently isn't colored, so we don't wanna show it off before it's finished. BUT here are some older pages that have been fully completed!
BRYCE'S PROSE PROJECTS
Another month of short stories! This month was mostly consumed by a still unpublished story called "The Big Hop." Initially, the idea started as a joke. Scott came up with a basic, silly premise for me to use in a story and I took that as a challenge. Clocking in at a whopping 56 pages, TBH is my favorite prose project I've written so far. Lately, I've been trying to focus on making my prose a lot more creative, a desire that has largely been spurned on by me recently discovering, and falling in love, with Kurt Vonnegut's work. With TBH, I worked hard to think outside the box when it came to the prose and evolve my style. It will be up early in November and I can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts on it!
Along with numerous other rough drafts (around three or four stories, each between five and twenty pages), I also worked on Ten Pages of Horror, a collection of ten one page horror stories for Halloween. It was an interesting challenge, being constrained to just one page, and allowed me to explore many ideas in ways I normally wouldn't have. One of them, Mr. Orwell's Record of Royalty, was an idea I had many years ago, that I've written many times, and never been able to make work. It has been twenty pages, thirty, and forty, yet my best version of it is only one page. This exercise is definitely something I want to do again. Maybe every Halloween!
STREAMING
I'd also like to remind everyone that we are officially streaming again! We are live on Twitch every Wednesday at 2PM EST! Come watch Scott draw, me play with my dog, Porkchop, and both of play Sparking Zero. Here, look at our pause screen!
