In memory of Lyra (Patreon)

I cannot believe I am writing this….in honesty I am relying solely on autocorrect because I can hardly see through my tears.
We lost Lyra on Monday. Out of the blue. She was fine until Sunday morning when she began seizing. I rushed her to the emergency vet and she stabilised for a while, but the seizures started again early Monday and she was just too poorly.

There are just some foxes that speak to you in a way others don’t, and, Lyra is one of those for me. I fell head over heels for her the moment she arrived from the fur farm two weeks ago and my heart is broken into more pieces than right now I think I can put back together. 

 We don’t know what took her away, we are waiting for the results of her necropsy. Because she had other pups in her enclosure, we are monitoring Ffion (who is still here) closely, and, following infection protocol- to be safe - and have spoken to Olive’s adopter, Molly, so she can take any additional steps with her vet. So far, Ffion and Olive are well.

Please keep Lyra, Ffion and Olive in your thoughts. She deserved so much more than 2 weeks of freedom  and love.
