I want to apologise for how quiet we’ve been the latter half of this week.

It was another very difficult one and we had to say goodbye to Agatha on Thursday. She was 20 years old and we rescued her from awful neglect last summer.

She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at the start of this year and with kidney disease a little while ago. We’ve been having regular vet visits to keep an eye on her health because it was deteriorating and after her most recent visit, we established after talking to the vet that her quality of life was now very bad. Her joints were always sore, her teeth were sore, her eye sight and hearing were going, she stopped being able to clean and groom herself….she wasn’t thriving any more.

Whilst we know it was the right thing, to give her dignity and ensure she was no longer in pain or discomfort, there is never, ever enough time and we’re all heartbroken.

The house is so quiet without her and I for one keep seeing her everywhere. We love you, Agatha. We’ll see you on the other side.

Please take a moment today to think of our sweet Agatha.
