Meet the Mink! (Patreon)

A few of you have asked for more information on our mustelid residents and who are we to say no?!
First up is Atlas!
Atlas is coming up on 6 months old and is a permanent resident at SAF. His colour morph is called ‘Seal’. His parents are Phoebe and Xander, who were recently adopted by an education centre in California. We raised Atlas and his siblings by hand from 4 weeks old. He’s well trained and uses his litter box, does some tricks and loves to climb people, especially when you’re wearing shorts. His hedgehog is his best friend!
Next up is Chichi
Chichi is a jaguar mink who was rescued from a fur farm at just a few weeks old. Because of her colour morph, she is actually deaf. Chichi is one of our educational animals and is also a permanent resident. She is definitely our fastest and smallest mink.
Coco is pending adoption and is quite a character; she loves her soon-to-be adopter and her favourite thing to do is to play with her squirrel stuffed toy in the pool. Her and Chichi were best friends until they reached maturity and had to be separated. Coco has also been with us since just a few weeks old and was rescued from the same fur farm as Chichi.
Last, but by no means least, are Plum and Clementine. Plum was surrendered from the fur farm and after his original mate passed away, we were able to save Clementine, who is a non-breeder, so that he was no longer lonely. Plum, once one of our friendliest mink, is a little less tolerant of people these day’s but loves his Clementine very much.
