Foxx Foxington is a blue Arctic fox

Age is unknown. We estimate him to be around 5 years old.

He came from an animal seizure situation with several raccoons, Shadow fox, and Dakota coyote.

His original name was snowflake. He didn't like the name either!

Foxx Foxington gets along very well with female red foxes. He has however bonded very quickly with fellow blue arctic female Lumi.

It's more uncommon for the Red Fox species to get along with the Arctic foxes than the Arctic to get along with the Red.

Red foxes are the more dominant of these two species. If paths are crossed in the wild, the Red Fox will chase the Arctic off.

Arctic foxes as pets are much more difficult than the red species; they don't like to be inside, they are unhappy in all the warmer months. As soon as the weather starts to cool down, so does Foxx's attitude. They aren't cuddly foxes. Your body heat would make them too warm.

Arctic foxes are near impossible to potty train and are much more mouthy than the Red Fox species.

For us, we love having the Arctic foxes. They are much easier to introduce and a little more predictable with other foxes than the red fox.

There is no situation where you can ever rely on the Red fox to get along with the arctic species.

Foxx loves his red fox ladies, his arctic fox companion Lumi, table service for his kibble - we offer him the scoop and he will daintily take a piece of kibble at a time! He also loves full moon jerky, squeaky toys and playing ‘gonna getchu’! Foxx really only lets Mikayla pet him and only during the colder months. In the spring he is very vocal and will call back if you call to him. He will also nip your heels if he likes you and has been known to steal shoes from peoples feet.

Love this first picture. Foxington looks like he’s got a little smile on his face. I understand Arctic foxes live in family groups.
