So the first thing is that the comment about 6 years after 1916 that Ireland would be a republic, except that isn't the case. Ireland only became a republic in 1937 following the adoption of a new constitution. In 1922(6 years after 1916) It would be the Irish Free State, which was a constitutional Monarchy under the British King. though throughout the 20s and 30s, the Irish government chipped away at British ties.

I seem to have contracted a cough this weekend, but seeing this uploaded made me feel a little happier. 1904 2nd February In the Japanese Empire, an Ultimatum is sent to Russian Prime Minister Sergei Witte Demanding that Russia Concede Fishing Rights as well as Economic Privileges in Siberia within 24 Hours or Face War. The Deadline is too short: a Coding Delay at the Japanese Embassy, as well as the Time differences, Means that by the Time it reaches Prime Minister Witte, the Russian Government has only 12 Hours in which to Reply, but Japan, in a Moment of Haste, has Cut all of the Telegraph Lines between Japan and Russia, Seeking to make Sure that Russian Spies cannot Communicate with Saint Petersburg but, in Reality, Ensuring War. 7th February In the Russian Empire, a Fleet of Six Dreadnought Battleships belonging to the Imperial Japanese Navy under the Command of Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō Fire on the Russian Fleet at Anchor in Port Arthur, Fengtian Province, Disabling Two Russian Battleships and a Cruiser. The Conflict that will become Known as the Fourth Great World War has begun. 10th February In the Russian Empire, Prime Minister Sergei Witte Rises before the Duma and Announces that, as Japan has Refused to Hear Russia’s Reply to their Ultimatum, a State of War now Exists between Japan and Russia. In the Russian Empire, upon Learning of the Outbreak of War, the Doukhobors ~ Knowing that Conscription has been Extended to Transcaucasia and Unwilling to take up Arms against the Japanese or anyone else ~ Collect their Weapons and Ceremonially Burn them, amidst much Singing of Hymns and Psalms. 12th February In the Russian Empire, Cossacks sent from Tiflis come to the Dukhobor Villages, Burn them to the Ground and then Arrest most of the Men. The Entire Dukhobor Population is then Dispersed across Siberia and Eastern Russia. 21st October In the Kingdom of Great Britain, while En Route from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok to Reinforce the Russian 1st Pacific Squadron Stationed at Port Arthur, Manchuria, the Captain of a Russian Supply Ship Mistakes a Passing Svealandic Ship for a Japanese Torpedo Boat, Despite being more than 20,000 Miles from Japan, and Radioes that he is under Attack. Later that same Night, in heavy Fog, the Officers of the Russian Baltic Fleet Sight a Fleet of British Fishing Trawlers from Kingston upon Hull, Read their Signals Incorrectly, and Classify them as Japanese Torpedo Boats. The Russian Warships Illuminate them with their Searchlights and Open Fire. Because their Nets are down, the Trawlers cannot Flee. The British Trawler Crane is Sunk and its Captain and First Mate are both Killed and Six others are Injured. In the Confusion, the Russian Cruisers Aurora and Dmitrii Donskoi are taken for Japanese Warships and are Bombarded by Seven Russian Battleships Sailing in Formation, Killing a Sailor and a Russian Orthodox Priest. After 20 Minutes’ Firing, the Fishermen see a Blue Light Signal on One of the Warships ~ the Order to Cease Firing. 22nd October In the Kingdom of Great Britain, some British Newspapers Call the Russian Fleet “Pirates” and Admiral Zinovy Rozhestvensky is Heavily Criticised for not leaving the British Sailors Lifeboats. The Editorial of the Morning’s Times is Particularly Scathing: “It is almost Inconceivable that any Men Calling themselves Sailors ~ no Matter how Frightened they may be ~ could spend 20 Minutes Bombarding a Fleet of Fishing Boats without Discovering the Nature of their Target.” The British Government Demands that the Baltic Sea Fleet stop to Aid the Investigation into the Incident. Tsar Nicholas II wants the Fleet in the East as quickly as possible and Demands that the British Postpone the Investigation, however the British are having none of it and even Place Troops on the Russian Ships to make sure that they Follow the British Fleet as they Return to the Port City of Portsmouth, Hampshire. 30th October In the Russian Empire, the British Royal Navy begins a Blockade around the Area where the North Sea and the Baltic Meet by Destroying all Russian Naval Craft and Charging all other Russian Merchant Ships with a Toll.
