And this coming from a nation which prides itself as the "Land of The Free." What it actually seems to mean is "Free if you're White."

This is not a story about the boarding school, but a story that my family passed down about how one of my great grandmothers and her parents were taken to Fort Sumner, NM. The certain story is about how my grandmother and other children would go to the horse stables when it was night and they would dig through the horse maneuver so they can try to find undigested pieces of corn. Once they found some corn they would take it back to their parents and they would clean and boil the corn kernels since the army at Sumner didn't give out enough food for them to eat.
