I liked how you defined "classes" as a role in the game instead of a strictly defined path of progression like in D&D. I prefer point-based systems where a character could make their own path and progress with not only their desires but the desires of the party as well. I'm in a Star Wars game where my character is a techie but over the games he had to develop other skills the rest of the party lacked like ground vehicle driving. I also developed his Strength stat as part of his background. I couldn't do that in most of the class-based systems I've found.
