I'm sorry the episode is a touch late, a plague has fallen upon my house. (Not COVID thankfully, but still :T )

I don't forget to heal Genji because of the Bystander Effect, I refuse to heal Genji because I will not follow him into death.

The Bystander Effect is a fairly well-documented phenomenon that states when people are in a crowd, they are less likely to offer help to people in need. There are a number of reasons for this. One might be the assumption that someone else will take responsibility. Another might be that we tend to look to other people to gauge how serious a situation is. When no one is reacting, we assume that the situation isn't dire. But how does this effect show up in games like Overwatch or League of Legends? Can MMOs like World of Warcraft help us overcome the effect? I think it's really important to note that the bystander effect is often overstated. The case from which the term is coined isn't as cut and dry as it's often said https://www.npr.org/2014/03/03/284002294/what-really-happened-the-night-kitty-genovese-was-murdered

Also there is at least some research to the contrary: https://psycnet.apa.org/doiLanding?doi=10.1037%2Famp0000469 it would be interesting to see a meta analysis of research that goes both ways.

I love that you reach beyond games as entertainment and deal with larger issues that can, and probably will, touch all of us. I would love to watch your videos as part of a watch party, with friends and others, able to discuss the content and our own experiences. Wish I knew how to do that.
