I'm the kind of player that takes level suggestions as very loose guidelines. Level 3 is close enough to 10 right?

Optimal vs Fun - Designing for Different Playstyles - Extra Credits

There's a lot of ways that you can approach a game. But what happens when the only way to have fun is to play "optimally"? What does Optimal Play even mean? Came shortly after we had our sickly, aged cat [whose picture I use in my profile] put to sleep.

I have three of my cats buried in my back yard. Sorry for your loss, happy you had so many years together.

I'm somewhere in between just for fun and optimizing for fun. Most of my gaming time, over the last several years, has been with Sid Meier's Civ 5 and 6. I've played every version, since the early 1990s, but only in the last four years have I ventured beyond the kiddie pool of the lowest difficulty levels, preferring a very relaxed game. Then a local friend encouraged me to try Prince, the level playing field. I surprised myself by keeping up with the game, and winning solidly. I've since played games at higher difficulty levels, but still like to go back to Prince, whenever I want to be able to choose less than optimally (Thank you, Zigzagzigal, for your wonderful guides.), and choose some options simply for a different experience. That game is full of different experiences, some quite crazy, such as in 5, with Brit man-o-war capturing strategic bombers and converting them to more new man-o-war. Try thinking of how that works - it's fun! Thank you for all your wonderful videos, whether they're helping us better appreciate games we love and encouraging us to try new things, or helping us better appreciate history and mythology.
