Alternate History Idea: what if the Wars of The Roses [which I'm sure will be covered in more Detail on this Channel One Day] had happened in the 21st Century? How would modern Nations/Organisations react to such a conflict?

Anonymous

Next time: French knights charge the English and get shot in the face by longbows... repeatedly.

1337 seems like pretty good year to start a national conflict that will have a name that doesn’t actually match how long it lasts.

Anonymous

Pretty tough to imagine, honestly. Most modern nations dropped rule by lineage exactly because of inheritance conflicts like the War of the Roses.

Great to se the return of political and economical analysis to the Extra History series! Makes it way easier to absorb than just lists of events seemingly justified by the whims of just one character.

As a French person, it is interesting to see the English perspective on these events. The start of the Hundred Years War is often described as : "The english king selfishly decided that he wanted to be king of France as well and invaded our country".

So much goodness. You guys keep inproving with each series :P

I like seeing new perspectives on War stories. I know how the French side goes, so hearing about the English side is really interesting :D

Love that you took the time to examine the economic context in addition to the political events! I also appreciated the rundown of the Plantagenet dynasty. That contextualization is really valuable given that the Plantagenets aren't exactly what you'd expect when thinking of "English Monarchy" from a modern vantage point. Also props to the guest narrator (and writer?), great delivery of the content. Looking forward to the next one!
