I found the Image in the First One with Bean Dan being Threatened by Kratos quite Humorous...mind you it must have been Terrifying for Dan though.

The thing about Norse religion is that it's meant to be cyclical. In other words after Ragnarok the world tree will be reborn followed by gods and man. This cycle has happened before and will happen again.

Also, I'm not sure how many people have ever actually noticed it, but Norse mythology is heavily marked by the fact that we only really know it from Iceland. The primeval realms are those of magma and glaciers, yet there are no volcanoes in Scandinavia and only few glaciers, both are very common in Iceland on the other hand. Similarly, the terrain in the myths is all mountains and cliffs and glaciers and waterfalls and all habitation is isolated farms. There's only ever one forest mentioned and no rolling hills or fields or towns, which is quite unlike forested Sweden and Norway and the glorified sandbank that is Denmark. We also know that there were towns and cities across Scandinavia, as well as a dozen or more fortresses across Denmark. Further, we know from archaeological evidence that at the very least the Swedish variation of Norse religion was all about Odin and that Tyr was a prominent figure of the warrior caste of Scandinavia. Linguistic evidence reveals that Ull must have been a very big deal in Norway due to the profusion of locations named for him. Yet in the mythology we have Thor, the god of storms and rains that would matter a lot to farmers and fishermen, gets top billing, and Odin gets a fair amount of attention as the head of the gods. On the other hand, Tyr, the warrior god, gets one story to his name (the binding of Fenris), while Ull is practically a footnote to the degree that we only know that he's associated with skiing and yew trees. Thor was still a big deal in Scandinavia from what we know, it's more that Odin was clearly a bigger deal among the Swedes and Tyr and Ull were apparently very big deals as well. One note about Tyr being a big deal, linguistically he's connected with Zeus and Agni, suggesting that he might at some point in the ancient Germanic history have been the chief of the gods. Also, I think the section on Jotunheim is a bit harsh on Loki. Loki is not exactly a great guy, but in most of the stories about him and Thor in Jotunheim it's more like a buddy cop movie with the brute and the trickster bickering, yet teaming up to overcome the opposition. Most of the stories where Loki is awful are based in Asgard.

Please thank the God of War team for sponsoring these mythology videos. Thanks to a local friend, I've become too good at Civ 5, but I still suck at the Domination victory, much preferring peaceful means. So I'll settle for watching friends play God of War, if they do.

... Also, I'm really, really broke.
