Hey folks! Yesterday we launched our brand new show, Extra Sci Fi, with a foray into Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. We won't always be posting ESF episodes here (this Patreon is mainly for EH updates!) but we figured that sharing a new show's first episode would be fun! Hope you enjoy it.

Same channel new show?

Ugh, now you've done it... seems like I'll have to upgrade my patreon donation...

This new line going to get its own Patreon?

Antonio

Can you keep 3 shows a week without getting insane in the prossess? Good luck, guys, I will always be you fan.

ExtraCredits

We'd rather not, in part because I don't like the idea of dipping twice into people's wallets and in part because I don't think Patreon does a good job of supporting multiple-content creators. If it's necessary to keep the show going after our current funding runs out, I would do it, but certainly not in the near future!

ExtraCredits

We think so! We've made some substantial changes to our production process to streamline things and get more secure schedules for our staff, which means everyone's workload is more defined and we can all plan our time around it. It's been part of a big but necessary (and, we think, helpful!) change for our team from the inside of things.

Really loved that there was an emergency towel right next to the Sci-Fi door. Will you maybe one day do a series on Hitchhikers Guide through the Galaxy?

Who else gets irritated when you see genres set up as, "Science Fiction and Fantasy" instead of listing the two separately?

ExtraCredits

We haven't planned for enough ahead to say for sure if we will or not, but I would at least say that it's within the bounds of topics we consider fair game for this series!

ExtraCredits

There is often some overlap in readership, but yeah, if I'm looking for a fantasy novel, I am looking for a different kind of thing than what I want when I go for a sciene fiction novel.

This looks Right up my Street...I wonder if Star Trek and its influence on the genre will be discussed in the Future in this Series?

Willkommen, Herr, in unserer Gemeinschaft. Translation: Welcome, Sir, to our Community.

Digging it! I never had good education in history, but the way in which you guys do EH has made me really enjoy learning about history. I was nervous when you guys announced sci-fi, but after finding that the show (at least the first few eps) will dig into literature in much the same way, I got excited. Come to think of it, maybe I just want Extra Literature. Still - sci-fi is an area I've never understood and I'm excited to gain some fluency.

ExtraCredits

Long long ago, this idea actually did start as Extra Literature, but it was rather daunting to start with the entire history of literature so we decided to narrow it down. Being huge sci fi nerds, we decided this was the best way to go about it!

Is there a way to get emails when a new Extra Scifi video is published? I want Extra History & Extra Scifi without Extra Credits...

Thank you for this. Mary Shelley isn't mentioned nearly as much as the title Frankenstein, and for decades, I was barewly aware of her. it is good to see her getting credit she deserves. :)
