Voting is closed, and the results are in: our next mini-series after Sengoku Jidai will be about the South Sea Company! This series will probably air in January of 2015. Now that my power to influence people's votes is gone, I have to admit that I'm very surprised at this outcome! Surprised and happy: this is the sort of niche topic that we'd love to talk about, but weren't sure how often it would win in a contest against such familiar topics as the Life of Caesar. It's great to see such variety coming from the show so early in its lifetime. As far as the topics that didn't win, don't worry - they'll be back! In fact, we already have plans to bring a few of them back pretty soon...

Why wouldn't I vote for the one I haven't studied as much? I'm here to learn. This show should focus on niche topics. If you are the kind of person that votes for things you already know a lot about, stop it.

Not what I voted for, but I'm sure it'll be just as informative and entertaining.

Great!! I don't think I have even heard about it. All the more exciting :) Can't wait!

I am so excited for Sengoku Jidai because I know . . .basically NOTHING about it and I love to learn, especially from you guys. I also know very little about South Sea so this is great.

I'll be honest: I voted for the South Sea company BECAUSE I had never heard of it. I thought it'd be interesting to learn about something new, rather than tread ground I'm already somewhat-familiar with.

Im currently watching an ongoing series about capitalism on an european TV programme (arte.tv). thereby i getting a broader horizon on this topic and excited now to get a bit historical background from you about a company which whole exsistence is born out of capitalism. good timing!

I actually can't even remember which one I voted for, because they all sounded really interesting and I wanted them all to win. :)

Will be great to learn about the South Sea company. You rarely hear about the big trading guilds/companies of Europe, despite the fact they were sometimes more powerful than the surrounding nations.
